Just the facts, ma'am
Ed-Shullivan5 January 2017
As was the famous line that Detective Joe Friday stated in many of the 1967 crime/drama TV series Dragnet episodes, so does this new television series Murder Made Famous provide only the facts in some of the more famous murder cases in recent years.

This series focuses on providing a combination of actors re-enacting some of the events that resulted in a high profile murder and supplemented with actual archive video footage of police interrogations of some of the actual criminals.

As is the case with the very first episode which focuses on the female killer Jodi Arias who murdered her former boyfriend salesman, Travis Alexander on June 04, 2008. We are provided with actors who portray murderer Jodi Arias and her victim Travis Alexander outlining how they first met, and subsequently became lovers. When Travis Alexander decided to break off their relationship the episode then outlines how Jodi Arias premeditated the calculated murder of her former lover. It also outlines how sloppy she was in her attempt to cover up her heinous crime.

The series is delivered in a documented style mixing scenes utilizing actors while mixing in actual crime scene footage and/or police video interrogations with the actual criminals as they did with this first episode.

I enjoyed the factual presentation of the events leading up to the murder(s) and the subsequent court proceedings when the guilty are brought to justice. This is a very professional depiction of the actual crimes/murders committed and depicts how callous some of these murderers who live in our neighborhoods can become.

Making a Mockery
cazzieevans28 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The most recent episode purports to tell the story of Steven Avery and the murder of 25 year old Theresa Halbach. The entire program is based on the coerced confession of Avery's 16 year old, educationally challenged nephew: A confession that was so contradicted by any physical evidence that it could not even be introduced at Avery's trial. This confession has since been referred to, by the prosecutor in both Avery and Dassey trials, as a "false confession". The episode regurgitates the sordid picture of events described by disgraced prosecutor Ken Kratz, pre-trial which is generally considered to have tainted the jury pool with tragic consequences.

To rehash this in such a lurid way is not only cruel and offensive to the Halbach family but also discredits the entire series. The standard of research is so poor there are basic errors on even universally accepted facts. Come August 29th 2016, when Kathleen Zellner presents her case for Steven Avery's exoneration, the producers of this program will be exposed for having produced a lazy, sensationalist fluff piece. No doubt they really don't care. It shows! If you have genuine interest in this case give this program a very wide berth. And if this is their general standard of production steer clear of the entire series.

The first 6 people

Amazing! A 9.5 almost unheard of rating.

The first six people voting on this series are obviously connected to the series in some way.

"Murder Made Me Famous" doesn't start until Saturday Sept 6, 2015, and Airs Thu. Aug. 27, 11:00 PM on REELZ. it's only August 26 early morning right now.

It really makes me angry when I see a stuffed ballot box rating. I come here to see what the public thinks of the movies and TV shows I look up, so I can decide whether or not I want to watch.

This doesn't mean the show is no good, it just means the people connected to it don't have enough confidence in it to allow a real rating.

This is the first time I've ever posted on IMDb and I only did it because I was so darn mad at seeing this kind of behavior yet again.

Have some confidence in your own work people!
