Thought-provoking, Unbiased
This documentary, "Hush" by Punam Kumar Gill, a self-proclaimed Pro-Choice feminist, is unbiased. She is very concerned with women's issues, including health. She has set on a path to discover if the correlation between abortion (which she fully supports a woman's right to choose) and breast cancer. She does a very good job being objective and she does not let her feelings towards Pro-choice detract her from critical thinking and asking poignant questions. She is solely focused on women's health issues. In her quest for straight answers she discovers that the medical community keeps valuable studies about the connection between abortions (and as she finds out in her search, mid-late term miscarriage) and breast cancer, premature birth, complications due to abortions, and the high rate of depression and suicide among women who have had abortions. She wonders why women who have had abortions would have higher rates of breast cancer. Several doctors and researchers answered her question using known biological/scientific reasons. She talk to some women who had abortions and they talked about their personal struggles (they varied from breast cancer, infertility, premature birth, loss of future children, depression, eating disorders, regret, etc.). This documentary is important to all women and men who support women's rights and care about women's health issues. There is so much women (society in general) are not told about in regard to their health for political reasons. I found it very interesting that black women, who account for the highest number of abortions in the US also have had a huge increase in the number of cases of breast cancer and premature births in the past 35 years. I watched this documentary on Amazon and it seemed to end abruptly at 1:47. I clicked "resume" several times, but it stopped at the same point and I was unable to see the conclusion. Please keep in mind, this is not a political "Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life" debate, it is purely focused on health issues concerning abortion (and mid-late term miscarriage) and it's correlation to breast cancer, premature birth, and depression in women. Well worth viewing and making up your own mind about this documentary.
