- This film revolves around a young mermaid who is tasked to kill a real estate developer for harming the marine ecosystem, but falls in love with him instead.
- Scenes involving mermaids getting killed off-screen can be unsettling.
- While the film is thoroughly whimsical and goofy, it eventually takes a very dark turn in the third act due to the environmental theme.
