The Machine delivers the number of Ethan Gavin, an analyst that works with the surveillance system called ShotSeeker at the Real Time Crime Center identifying gunshots in New York City. When Gavin leaves his job, Reese follows him to an apartment building, where he searches for the student of doctorate in chemistry Krupa Nalk. He breaks in her apartment and shoots the fireplace. Reese arrests him and he explains that there were gunshots in Krupa's apartment a couple of days ago, but the ShotSeeker reported as firecrackers. Since that day, Krupa is missing. Meanwhile, Fusco is approached by Bruce Moran, who wants to know what happened with his friend Elias in the shooting, and threatens his son. Fusco tells Reese that promises to resolve the situation and asks him to protect Gavin. Fusco and Garvin meet the founder of a non-profit organization, Benjamin Haas, who tells that Krupa had developed a project that might end hunger in the world. Further, the project was stolen the night Krupa had disappeared. The main suspect is JD Carrick, who wanted to buy her research to keep the profits of his company. Meanwhile. Finch and Root prepare simulation to analyze the outcome of a battler between The Machine and the Samaritan.
"ShotSeeker" is another great episode of "Person of Interest", here the viewer learns interesting points. Fusco says that the number of homicides has decreased in New York City, but the number of suicides and disappearance has increased a lot. The simulation of the fight between The Machine and the Samaritan shows that The Machine needs to improve and grow. The fate of Elias in the shooting is finally disclosed to the viewers. Why the Samaritan is interested in Krupa's research is not clear. My vote is nine.
