  • At a red light district, male and female characters wearing only underwear can be seen inside display windows.
  • The player may also encounter suggestive posters and billboards on a building, including one with an image of a topless female.

Violence & Gore

  • The player-character explores various areas to complete objectives and side missions. Weapons such as rifles, pistols and submachine guns can be used to battle human enemies during combat sequences.
  • The player can also sneak up on and attack enemies using melee attacks such as punches and kicks.
  • Non-lethal approaches can also be used to complete objectives, such as sneaking past enemies, or knocking them out instead of killing them.
  • In addition, take-down moves may depict characters being stabbed through the neck/chest, and enemies can also be impaled to the wall with a blade.
  • The game contains strong depictions of violence during combat sequences and in non-interactive cinematic scenes.
  • Realistic blood splatters are depicted when characters are attacked, staining the surrounding surfaces.
  • While exploring the environment, the player may also encounter mutilated and dismembered corpses lying in pools of blood.
  • Overall, depictions of realistic violence, such as killing, maiming or causing other serious injury to human/humanoid characters is featured, but the violence itself is not sadistic, cruel and/or abhorrent.

Profanity

  • Background characters frequently use sh*t and f*ck and variations while the protagonist moves through the world. Muting the voices in the game menu allows you to avoid this while subtitles give you the plot from the main characters. The subtitles contain the same pervasive use of coarse language.
  • There are frequent instances where strong expletives such as "f**k" and "motherf**ker" are uttered in the game's dialogue.
  • Overall, the frequent use of strong coarse language is present in the game.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Barely Any alcohol Drugs are only used to help people from dying and no smoking.
  • Drinking alcohol is optional and gives blurred vision
  • To recover health, the player injects himself with stimulants and takes pain killers from a bottle - all done from a menu, not graphically represented.
  • Characters in the game who have cybernetic augmentations are required to take a drug to prevent their body from rejecting the augmentations. At times people are shown in various states of withdrawal or need.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man dies a horrifying death as his body rejects his augmented parts. Gruseome details may upset some, and it is unavoidable.
  • One side mission deals with a murder and a psychopath that removes people's augmentations. The final confrontation is tense and somewhat disturbing.
  • 'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided' is a first-person, action role-playing game set in the future where augmentation of humans with cybernetics is commonplace.
  • The protagonist is an Interpol agent trying to maintain the peace between the general population and augmented humans who have become increasingly outcast and segregated.
  • Due to the game's inclusion of strong coarse language and violence, it is recommended for players aged 18 and above.
