ABC has added a comedy from Latinx “The Good Place” writer Chris Encell to its slate.
The network has put into development “Borderline,” a single-cam which also hails from in-house studio ABC Signature and “The Office” producer Danny Chun.
“Borderline” centers around goody two-shoes Steve, who falls for reckless Maria. Their whirlwind romance is cut short when she gets deported. Now they must decide whether to bail on the potential love of their lives or take a leap of faith and get married. The show’s central question is, can two completely different people who barely know each other live happily ever after? Its answer: “Absolutely not, but they’re going to try.”
Encell is serving as writer and executive producer, with Chun on board as a non-writing exec producer. Beyond writing on two seasons of NBC’s “The Good Place,” Encell also co-produces the Netflix teen comedy-drama “On My Block.

While at SeriesFest 5 in Denver recently, I had the opportunity to attend a fascinating panel featuring showrunners and series creators under 40.
In addition to the creators and showrunners of This Close on Sundance and Joey Slamon of Tru TV's I'm Sorry was Laura Chinn of Pop TV's Florida Girls.
If not for that panel, I might have skipped over the latest Pop series, but Chinn was a hoot. Her series captures her essence, and Florida Girls is must-see comedy.
You might not know about Chinn, but she's been lurking behind some good shows including Grandfathered and The Mick.
With Florida Girls, she has taken her personal story and blown it up for the world to see. It's not exactly her life, but her life is its inspiration.
Before this review begins, let’s be clear. Reviewing comedy is not my thing, and I am not a comedian.

In a morning full of snubs and surprises, one of the more intriguing moments was the reveal of the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama nominees. It’s not shocking that there were three nominations for “The Handmaid’s Tale” in this category, given how the show has always been a showcase for a wide range of roles for women. But what was a surprise is the three women chosen: Previous nominee Samira Wiley (who competed last year in the Supporting Actress category and lost to Ann Dowd), Cherry Jones (who made a few appearances in Season 2 as June’s mother Holly), and, seemingly out of nowhere, Kelly Jenrette as “Annie.”
If you had to look up who that character is, don’t feel bad. Jenrette has one major scene in flashbacks during Season 2, Episode 4, “Other Women,” in which Annie confronts June (Elisabeth Moss) as the woman “wrecking” her marriage — calling her a “fucking whore.

There was no shortage of celebrity beefs in 2017.
Whether the fights were between co-stars or once close friends, the shade just kept coming. Let's take a look back at the most intense celebrity feuds of the year.
1. Blac Chyna vs. Rob Kardashian
Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian's split turned a new level of nasty when the former couple exchanged wild accusations against one another in a heated, Nsfw social media war in June. Kardashian shared graphic naked photos of Chyna, accused her of cheating on him multiple times and also accused her of being on drugs. Meanwhile, Chyna took to Snapchat to accuse Kardashian of also cheating on her and being physically abusive.
One month later, a judge granted Chyna's request for a temporary restraining order against Kardashian.
"Revenge porn is a form of domestic abuse," Chyna's attorney, Lisa Bloom, said during a press conference.

A post shared by Josh Peck (@shuapeck) on Aug 27, 2017 at 5:05pm Pdt Feud? What feud? Although the friendship between Drake & Josh's Drake Bell and Josh Peck hit a rough patch in June when Josh neglected to invite his former costar to his Summer wedding, it seems the two were able to bury the hatchet at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. Before heading into the event, Josh shared an adorable photo on Instagram of the pair hugging, captioning it, "Hug me...." Cute, right? Drake and Josh have been friends for years after starring on their hit Nickelodeon show, but it was obvious to fans that they'd grown apart when Drake responded to his noninvite with a series of cryptic tweets.
