Mention of an imprint on the victim's forehead, of a metal clock carried by security guards, appears to be a fabrication by the show's writers. There is no mention of such an imprint in any of the contemporary news reports of the murder or the trials of the suspect, David Dickson. There was no physical evidence presented at either of the two trials. (The first one ended in a hung jury, a fact NOT mentioned in this episode.) Conviction was largely based on circumstantial evidence of Dickson's shoe fetish and testimony by "jailhouse snitches" that he had admitted the murder to them. The only mention of a security clock in the contemporary news reports was a police THEORY that Dickson may have used the strap of his clock to strangle the victim. Had there been an imprint of the clock on the victim's forehead, that would have immediately pointed the police to Dickson or the other security guards, instead of the case taking over a decade to solve.
