Elvis Presley‘s Jailhouse Rock includes a rare song with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll on guitar. He was even more talented than you thought! The Beatles later covered the song in question.
Elvis Presley was high on music during the ‘Jailhouse Rock’ sessions
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller wrote several songs for Jailhouse Rock, including the title song. In the 2009 book Hound Dog: The Leiber & Stoller Autobiography, Stoller discussed a session with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. “At the end of the day, Elvis was as high on the music as Jerry and I,” he said. “That was a Wednesday. Elvis didn’t show up at the studio on Thursday, but he was back on Friday to do the fourth song, ‘(You’re So Square) Baby I Don’t Care.'”
Stoller said Elvis went the extra mile with “(You’re So Square) Baby I Don’t Care.

John Lennon and Paul McCartney were a stellar songwriting duo who could write a hit song in a matter of minutes. However, the pair would still work to polish and refine the track in the studio, ensuring it wouldn’t sound rushed. Still, sometimes inspiration took over, and they would try to finish a piece as soon as possible. One song from The Beatles’ The White Album was written and recorded by the two bandmates on the same day.

“Birthday” is the opening song in the second half of 1968’s The White Album. The Beatles had scheduled an earlier recording session on Sept. 18, 1968. Paul McCartney had arrived at the studio earlier than the others and started to play the riff from “Birthday” before John Lennon and the others came.

Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday celebration gathered an eclectic group of well-wishers including Neil Young, Snoop Dogg, and The Chicks for the first of two performances at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on Saturday. Watch fan-captured footage from the event below.
“Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90, A Star-Studded Concert Celebrating Willie’s 90th Birthday” kicked off with perhaps the roster’s youngest performer, Billy Strings, who played two Shotgun Willie staples, “Whiskey River” and “Stay a Little Longer.” He later returned to back Bob Weir on a rendition of “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” from Nelson’s classic 1975 LP, Red Headed Stranger, which received further looks from the likes of Norah Jones, Beck, and Tyler Childers.
Country as a genre was well represented between The Chicks, Margo Price, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, and more, but the set also spanned Nelson’s many musical phases and stages with covers from Tom Jones,...

During “Succession” season 4, episode five, “Kill List,” written by Jon Brown and Ted Cohen and directed by Andrij Parekh, the Roy siblings — Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv (Sarah Snook) — are summoned to Norway for a team-building retreat by GoJo CEO Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård).
However, Waystar Royco’s old guard of executives, including Gerri Kellman (J. Smith-Cameron), grows increasingly concerned over the trip’s true purpose. And after Matsson makes a play for Atn, the family is forced to reconsider their plans for Logan’s (Brian Cox) crown jewel, the only thing their late father tried to keep for his own.
While “Succession” continues to drive toward the series’ ultimate conclusion, especially after Logan’s untimely death and how his successors handle the conglomerate’s overall future, the episode marked a welcome opportunity to see Roman and Lukas get to reconnect under very different circumstances.

There are many Beatles songs that John Lennon hated. Out of all The Beatles, John was the most critical of his and the band’s work. He didn’t give his praise lightly. Here are 10 songs John disliked. Some may surprise fans.
John Lennon | Harry Benson/Getty Images 10. ‘Run for Your Life’
It’s surprising if anyone likes “Run for Your Life.” It’s one of the most disturbing Beatles songs and one John hated. All you need to hear is the first verse to get that impression: “Well, I’d rather see you dead, little girl/ Than to be with another man/ You better keep your head, little girl/ Or I won’t know where I am.” According to Ultimate Classic Rock, John often said it was his least favorite Beatles song. He also called it a “throwaway.”
9. ‘Paperback Writer’
“Paperback Writer” is one of the best Beatles songs from the mid-1960s.

2022 was finally the year that the Korean box office, after the pandemic, was defibrillated back to life. Producers and distributors were finally confident that the time was right for big budget, blockbuster projects, that had long been queueing up for a release, to start making their way to the theatres. After having to resort to Ott streaming and generally smaller scale films, the audience too was hungry to see high-value productions, entertainment and their favorite stars on the big screen and thronged to the theatres, lapping up these releases. So much so that 2022 saw four new films make their way into the 100 highest grossing Korean films of all tie at the domestic box-office, with Ma Dong-seok’s “The Roundup” even rolling comfortably into the top 10.
2023 too began strongly, with the long-in-production “The Point Men” starring Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin and the Sol Kyung-gu led ensemble spy thriller “Phantom” opening the year strong.

Rebellion, outrage, scandal, hypersexual egomania, ripping it up, rocking it up, gigantic hair, and mascara — all these things are in rock & roll because Little Richard put them there. He was the loudest and wildest and rudest of the Fifties pioneers, the most flamboyantly and untamably free. He invented the rock star. That’s why the world is mourning today for Little Richard, who died this morning at 87. “The Girl Can’t Help It,” “Tutti Frutti,” “Slippin’ and Slidin’,” “Good Golly, Miss Molly,” “Heebie Jeebies” — these songs have been an inspiration to rebel hearts ever since.

In line with its continued bid to release a diversity of strong titles, Cinepolis Distribution has picked up all worldwide distribution rights to horror drama “My Favorite Birthday” (“Mi Cumpleaños Favorito”) by helmer-scribe Agustin ‘Oso’ Tapia (“Club Eutanasia”).
Tapia has described “Birthday” as “a story where two genres collide: Film noir with the supernatural.” The horror pic follows a young girl about to turn seven who receives a magical puppet theater for her birthday. The unusual gift allows her to spy on unsuspecting adults around her.
Seasoned film and TV producer Leonardo Zimbron and genre producer Beatriz Bouras (“Influencia”) are producing the drama, which is currently shooting on location.
Fernanda Castillo, wildly popular for her performance in Mexican box office hit “Ya Veremos,” leads the cast along with Juan Rios and Ivan Arana.

“It’s very rare to have this type of program focusing on [Central and] Eastern Europe,” said festival director Marek Hovorka. “We are part of this region, and we want to be able to support professionals in film in this region [to] meet professionals in film from outside this region—not only from Europe, but from the rest of the world.”
Launched in 2001 with a focus on Central European documentaries – and expanded to include Eastern Europe the following year – Between the Seas was the first international competition at Ji.hlava, and it remains an “essential” part of the festival, said Hovorka.

Paul McCartney was playing air guitar when he showed up at New York’s Grand Central Terminal Friday night around 7:40 p.m. His livestreamed YouTube concert was starting in just a few minutes, but first he wanted to give us in the audience a few instructions. He’d start the broadcast alone on camera, with the crowd in complete silence. “Then I’ll just move a little more over this way and sing, ‘Hey Jude…'” he continued. “And you’ll sing, ‘Don’t make it bad…’ And that’s your big moment!

Stephen Mangan has recreated arguably the most iconic naked pregnant photoshoot of all time to promote his new TV drama.
The Episodes star channels both Demi Moore in her classic Vanity Fair cover shoot and Arnold Schwarzenegger in Junior for his new Sky Arts show Birthday.
The one-off drama sees Mangan as Ed, a 30-something bloke who is about to give birth at a London NHS maternity hospital.
Birthday is adapted from Joe Penhall's sell-out 2012 Royal Court play.
Mangan also tweeted the photo, saying: "I'm very proud of [Birthday] and think it might surprise you."
Anna Maxwell Martin will also star in the drama as Ed's high-flying wife who is by his side as they await the birth of their daughter.
