"American Horror Story: Asylum - Get Committed the Experience" is of course a little add-on for fans of the series mentioned in the title. It can also be seen as a mini-series as apparently it consists of a trailer and 6 really short episodes. You can watch the entire thing in under 15 minutes. Basically, it is about a group of fans of AHS that do not know each other and they are picked to take part in an event at an asylum as a little tribute to the newest season, then newest season, of the show they love. Anfd they get in contact with patients as well as doctors where you'd ask yourself which of the two is more deranged eventually. It starts in a solid manner I'd say with some exams who gets picked up for what and witnessing a bizarre hypnosis session. This is really what it is all about, the candidates get to witness shocking stuff or lets say actord predicting shocking stuff happened to them like the electric shock episode too. That one was really strange and not too entertaining. I mean you also have to get in a point and if somebody else gets shocked when you answer a question incorrect, then it is just for the sake of it with no real basis to reality. And at leastg a little is needed. It gets worse and worse the longer it runs. The penultimate episode is basically just random moaning and screaming and the end, a bit of an epilogue is as uninteresting as it gets. I really wonder if the candidates, i.e. the fans who got cast, were actors too or really fans. We will never know I guess. It may have been an interesting experience for them to take part here, but for the audience it is not ultimately. It is also not as close to AHS as you wanted it to be. They could have gotten at least one major actor from the cast have a little cameo here to make things more interesting and make the connection. Thumbs down. Skip it.
