Paper Dolls is derived out of the idea of our perception of what it is to be and live in an interracial world. It questions our behavior in racial contexts and also reflects just how varied a single person's racial and cultural heritage can be. Today, a person can be born into a life situation with a variety of ethnic roots and this in turn becomes a journey of discovering one's identity all the while juxtaposed by a world of ordained systems and conventions. It's tough. Paper Dolls is a tiny window into such a life.
