These comments refer to the entire two part story; not just episode two.
Throughout this season it has been clear that Wagner's kindness to Grace will ultimately cause him trouble in the end and now it really does. He returns to the 'safe house' he has put her in and discovers her dead body; his first call isn't to his police colleagues but to Dicte he knows he is in trouble and wants somebody who will help him find Grace's daughter and ultimately find the real killer. He is obviously suspended when it emerges that he had been involved with Grace but he continues to investigate with Dicte until he finds another body, flees the scene and is charged with both murders! Dicte continues to investigate although she has problems of her own; her new editor thinks she isn't giving the story the prominence it deserves, Bo announces that he is going on a photo-assignment to Syria and her daughter Rose is still refusing to talk to her.
This story was a good season finale; having a protagonist as a suspect may be a little cliché but it works better than usual as we have seen his illicit relationship with Grace develop through the season. There is a good amount of tension as well as some surprisingly funny moments; sometimes at the same time such as when Wanger is approached by a tough looking man he put in prison for murder who turns out to be quite friendly. The identity of the real killer isn't too obvious but neither is it totally un-guessable. The side story involving Dicte, her daughter and her mother doesn't detract from the main story and reaches a satisfying conclusion. There is also so interesting character development for several other secondary characters. The cast is impressive as usual. Overall this was a fine conclusion to the second season and I hope we don't have to wait too long for season three.
