Against the advice of Jean, who declares her love for him, Neil and Steven, Martin goes ahead with the wedding, financing it himself since Harriet's father has pulled out, following Martin's refusal to be circumcised, and also refused to attend. The ceremony is rather hollow with Harriet criticizing Martin for not doing more impressions in his speech. On its way to the honeymoon the wedding car pulls up at a garage where Martin spots Jean - and drives off with her instead.
