When Torkel Gregersson is tracking down a thrilling story, he wants to get the most out of it. As a cynical journalist, he doesn't believe in anything anymore. He wants to prove the bicycle man is a phony, but instead he sets people in motion with his reports. In the end, Torkel's news hunting drives the cyclist away. The bicycle man disappears and the legend is born.
As the mild wind rises from the river and sweeps across their face, Janne and Hanna realize that something important has happened in their life. Just like an element of holiness had risen from the Northern archaic landscape and touched them.
