Is Project Stardust the Same As Project Necromancer?
Project Necromancer is what the entire three seasons of Star Wars: The Bad Batch has been all about.
With Doctor Royce Hemlock set on resurrecting Emperor Palpatine using Omega's M-count, the Clone Force 99 had all right to worry about saving Omega's life.
Not only is she a rare subject, but using her as a test experiment would mean losing her life for the Empire's purpose.

As The Fantastic Four inches closer to production, the upcoming Marvel Studios reboot continues to round out its cast, and the latest addition is going to be a very busy man over the next couple of years.
After booking roles in Paramount’s Naked Gun reboot and New Line's Chris Farley biopic earlier this week, THR reports that Paul Walter Hauser has also signed on for a part in The Fantastic Four.
Details on his character are being kept under wraps, but there's already speculation that he might be playing the villainous Mole Man.
Hauser joins Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" season 3, episode 15, "The Cavalry Has Arrived."
"The Cavalry Has Arrived" is a fitting title for the end of "Star Wars: The Bad Batch," the animated series that was as much a continuation of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" as it was its own distinct show. Revolving around the genetically altered Clone Force 99, as first introduced in "The Clone Wars," "The Bad Batch" spent three seasons offering us a window into the plight of clones in the days and years following the creation of the Empire and how these particular clones were able to carve their niche in the galaxy. One of the key motivators for this group of former Republic special forces is Omega. She's a special clone and vital to the Emperor's plans to clone himself should something happen to him. Famous for his brutal roles in The Quiet Man (1952), Rio Bravo (1959) and True Grit (1969), John Wayne got much recognition as the king of Westerns alongside Clint Eastwood. His movies became not only the best examples of the genre, but also one of the biggest sources of inspiration of the 20th century’s filmmakers.
In particular, Steven Spielberg, the giant of the industry, once confessed he revisits one of Wayne’s movies every time before he makes a new film of his own, as it’s much of a great value for the director. Indeed, the 1956 Western feature is quite unmissable.
The plot of the movie seems typical of the genre - it follows a Civil War veteran looking for his abducted relative. However, it’s not as simple as it may seem, as Ethan Edwards, the main character played by Wayne, has his niece Debbie stolen by the Comanches, whom he can’t bear,...

In the 2022 miniseries, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen, and Ewan McGregor reunited on screen for the first time since 2005 when their iconic characters locked horns once again. The series which is part of George Lucas’ cult Star Wars franchise, is set years after the events in Revenge of the Sith, and brings the titular Jedi Master face to face with his arch nemesis Darth Vader.

Apart from many déjà vu moments from the various films, the series also brought back some memorable props, including the famous healing vessel called the bacta tank. Christensen who was required to get into this big water-filled vessel for his character, dispensed with a body double for the test run, and went through training to master the art of being underwater without the help of any breathing aids.

George Lucas Nearly Cast a Different Actor as Darth Vader Changing the Flow of the Franchise Forever
Darth Vader is undeniably one of the most iconic fictional characters, known for his menacing black suit and distinctive voice. Many other works of fiction and art make reference to the character, making it a familiar presence.
But, did you know that the role of Vader nearly went to a different actor? One who, at the time, might have been even more preferred than James Earl Jones given the circumstances?
During the late 1970s, while filming ‘A New Hope’ in London, David Prowse, who portrayed Darth Vader physically, delivered all of Vader’s lines from behind the mask. However, the mask muffled his speech, necessitating dubbing in post-production. Prowse initially expected to dub his own lines, but logistical issues and concerns about his accent prompted George Lucas to seek another voice. Lucas sought a deep, distinguished voice befitting the enigmatic Darth Vader. Ultimately, James Earl Jones, then a relatively unknown actor,...

Darth Vader is without a doubt one of the most iconic fictional characters, recognized by his ominous black suit and his voice. Plenty of other works of fiction and art reference the character, and it’s one of those references we can always easily spot.
But, did you know that the iconic role almost went to a completely different actor? The one that at the time would be perhaps even favored above James Earl Jones under the circumstances?
While filming ‘A New Hope’ in London during the late 1970s, David Prowse, the actor behind Darth Vader’s physical performance, spoke all of Vader’s lines from behind the mask. However, due to the mask muffling his speech, his lines had to be dubbed over in post-production. Greg Daniels and Michael Koman could return to The Office universe, with Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) as cast members of the proposed spinoff. Gleeson and Inpacciatore would be part of an ensemble for the project, which Deadline says is close to entering production. Plot details about The Office spinoff remain a mystery.
We know only a little about the project beyond its setting in The Office universe. Daniels wants fans to know it’s not a reboot, even though it takes place in the same arena as the Steve Carell-led mockumentary series focusing on the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company employees. Daniels says the new show could feature a camera crew doing a documentary about a subject outside the day-to-day lives of office workers surviving the daily grind and their toxic boss.
Domhnall Gleeson launched his acting career in 2001 as a character named Byrne in an episode of Rebel Heart.

The game has the advantage and disadvantage of a looming shadow from the films, players will have certain expectations and the team behind it is leaning towards one specific film for reference.

Finding acceptance in one’s own self is the first and most important part of redemption, which is the central theme in the recently released Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver, the second movie entry in Zack Snyder’s space opera franchise. Set in the fictional galactic empire centered on Motherworld, the first part of Netflix’s Rebel Moon 1 managed to draw viewers’ attention thanks to the narrative similarity it shared with Seven Samurai and Star Wars: Rogue One, uniting a ragtag group of warriors to stand against a cosmic dictatorship, but the lack of originality in Snyder’s vision made for a rather forgettable experience. Releasing shortly after the release of the first part, the sequel had a chance to expand the lore by utilizing the creative freedom provided to the makers, but it ends up venturing merely knee-deep into the past lives of the key characters showcased in...

Riz Ahmed is now a Wes Anderson featured player.
The actor, last seen in Apple’s love drama Fingernails, has joined the roster of acclaimed auteur’s latest project, an untitled feature that is now shooting in Berlin.
Plot details are being kept in the breast pocket, but it is shaping up to be another ensemble piece with several of his usual cadre of artists.
Benicio Del Toro and Bill Murray are also on the call sheet for the project. The feature has a script from Anderson and Roman Coppola, who has worked on five of the filmmaker’s movies. Michael Cera, also cast in the picture, is among the other Anderson first-timers.
The project was at one point eying a fall 2023 start, but the twin strikes last year pushed the start of production.

Universal and Amblin aren’t wasting any time revamping the dinosaur-centric “Jurassic World,” “Jurassic Park” franchise, as the two studios are looking to begin shooting the seventh film in the series. To be directed by Gareth Edwards (“Rogue One,” “The Creator”) and already starring Scarlett Johansson (“Black Widow,” “Marriage Story“), Deadline reports that Jonathan Bailey (“Bridgerton,” “Fellow Travelers”) is in early talks to join “Jurassic World 4,” which has been described as a soft reboot without any characters or actors from the other films expected to appear (although that could change).

Creator Tony Gilroy provides an update on Andor season 2, and adds that it’s the biggest thing he’s ever worked on.
Two years after the terrific first season of Andor – a prequel series to 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – the second and final season is set to stream on Disney+ later in 2024.
Filming on the show concluded in February, and since then, creator Tony Gilroy (who also writes and produces) has likely been busy with editing and other post production bits and pieces. Gilroy – who also worked on Rogue One following a fraught production – has managed to take a bit of time out from his work on the show to make an appearance at the Writers Guild of America East.
While there, he gave an update on where he’s up to with Andor and, as first reported by Games Radar, said that he and his collaborators are indeed ‘finishing’ season two.

Life in post-strike Hollywood was definitely a topic of conversation at Sunday’s Writers Guild Awards, with former WGA West president David Goodman saying “the strike is over, the fight goes on” while adding “as individuals we’re replaceable.”
That sentiment has never been more applicable than now, as the ongoing contraction in Hollywood continues to impact how many writers remain out of work since walking off the picket line in September.
In March, Deadline kicked off a Hollywood Contraction series by checking in with the above and below-the-line communities to see whether opportunities have picked up since the end of the strikes.
The response hasn’t been positive. Because of fewer shows in the works and the disappearance of pilot season, the availability of gigs are now few and far between — with many considering a life outside of Hollywood.

The "Star Wars" universe is stuffed with memorable baddies, and since the theatrical films have mostly been shot in London, these villains are typically from the United Kingdom. Everyone's got a favorite: Ian McDiarmid's sinister Emperor Palpatine, Peter Cushing's ruthless Grand Moff Tarkin (who was digitally resurrected for "Rogue One"), Kenneth Colley's stressed out Admiral Piett ... there's really no wrong answer here. But if I absolutely have to place one member of the Galactic Empire over all the others, I might just go with Julian Glover's delectably evil General Maximillian Veers.
Why? Even though he doesn't get much screen time in "Star Wars: Episode V -- The Empire Strikes Back", Glover is just such a strikingly nasty piece of work during the assault on the Rebels' Hoth base of operations that I find myself wishing Lucas had found more for him to do.

Critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated, while it may not have matched the ratings of similar “Star Wars” shows like “The Mandalorian”—perhaps more adult and mature than expected— the “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” prequel spinoff series “Andor” was very adored by its fans. Already highly anticipated, the second season will be something special, according to the show’s creator/showrunner Tony Gilroy, who added to the hype. Gilroy is typically a bit more reserved, leaving the showboating for others, but even he suggested that “Andor” season two will be epic.

Dev Patel is the latest actor who could be poised to join Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic sequel, which will also star Scarlett Johansson.
Dev Patel, who recently turned director and action star with Monkey Man, is said to be ‘in talks’ to co-star in Gareth Edwards’ upcoming Jurassic Park (or Jurassic World) reboot, which has been dubbed Jurassic City.
The report comes via the reliably connected Daniel Richtman (via World of Reel); if all goes to plan, then Patel will co-star alongside Scarlett Johansson – not to mention a number of CGI dinosaurs – in the upcoming film.
It’s likely we’ll be hearing one or two more similar casting announcements over the next few months, given that production is having to move at a fast pace on the next Jurassic film. Universal Pictures has already set itself a release window of July 2025, and filming is set to get underway at the...

Disney's theme parks launched new experiences for their original "Star Wars" ride this week. Star Tours: The Adventures Continue is the second iteration of the attraction that originally opened at Disneyland Park in 1987. The first version of the ride was a consistent experience that put audiences inside a motion-simulated ship piloted by a droid voiced by Paul Reubens. The ride took park-goers right into the middle of a Death Star attack and was unlike anything anyone had ever seen. An ever-popular attraction, it was updated in May of 2011 to its current iteration. Instead of a single movie ride, new technology allowed Lucasfilm and Disney Imagineers to randomize the process. Now, with the updated system, your voyages could be randomized and it was easy for new updates to be made.
As new movies in the Skywalker Saga were subsequently released, new locations were added to the ride. "The Force Awakens" brought Jakku to Star Tours,...

Spoilers for "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" Season 3 Episode 12 "Juggernaut" follow.
The third and final season of "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" moves on, this time bringing us back to the original status quo of the season. In the epic previous episode, Omega sacrificed herself to prevent the utter destruction of their paradise refuge of Pabu, and the Empire takes her right back to Mount Tantiss. Desperate to find Omega and stop the Empire's experiments once and for all, the Bad Batch looks for any lead they can in order to find the location of the secret facility.
That brings them back to Admiral Rampart, who was arrested in earlier seasons as a scapegoat for the genocidal destruction of Kamino. He was sent to an Imperial labor camp, which offers a pretty neat, direct tie to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

We look ahead to Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic City, what it might be like, and how it connects to his very earliest work.
In the press tour for his 2023 sci-fi film The Creator, British director Gareth Edwards suggested that, after the bruising experiences of making 2014’s Godzilla and in particular 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, he wouldn’t rush to go back to studio filmmaking again.
Suggesting that both of those films had started production without finalised scripts, Edwards said as recently as January that “I have to concentrate on personal and original projects.”
This stance appeared to change rather abruptly just one month later, when Universal approached Edwards with the offer to direct the next Jurassic Park (or Jurassic World) sequel. Original director David Leitch had dropped out, and with the film’s production racing to meet a self-set 2025 release date, Universal Pictures needed a replacement in a...

The site reports that the movie, from Simon Amstell, was put on pause due to scheduling issues following the strikes in 2023.
Felicity was to lead as Maria, “who was struggling with her age and a difficult relationship with her terminally-ill father. According to the logline, Maria then embarked on a questionable relationship with her stepbrother Raffy.”
Jonathan was going to play her boyfriend, and Jason Isaacs was cast as her father.

No one ever really leaves the galaxy far, far away. Liam Neeson’s Qui-Gon Jinn was the first character (chronologically) to master the art of a spiritual return from the grave (a spectacle known to fans as becoming a “Force ghost”) and the estate of Peter Cushing was the first to allow his character, Grand Moff Tarkin, to reappear thanks to creepy computer imaging in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” So, between the two, you can rest assured that as long as there will never be star peace, we’ll see Ewen McGregor back as Obi-Wan Kenobi is some kind of “Star Wars” project.

In Gareth Edwards' 2016 studio-sanctioned fan film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," a group of brave Rebels defy their superior officers, go rogue, and steal the blueprints for the Death Star, a planet-killing machine run by the evil Empire. The thieves are all killed in the process (spoilers?), but their mission will prove successful. "Rogue One" doesn't make explicit what will be done with the Death Star blueprints, but the filmmakers made the assumption that everyone in the audience had already seen George Lucas' 1977 "Star Wars" film, and trusted them to connect the dots. "Rogue One" also inspired a spinoff TV series called "Andor," which many critics have said is one of the best dramas to come from the "Star Wars" universe in years.

Remember "Solo: A Star Wars Story"? Sure you do! It was the second "Star Wars" anthology film — that is, a film set outside the main "Star Wars" Skywalker Saga timeline — following "Rogue One," and its less-than-great reception essentially killed off the idea of Disney doing new anthology films. Instead, the studio stuck with finishing out the Skywalker Saga in a disappointing fashion and then shifted to a bevy of Disney+ shows (some of which are soon to make the jump from the small to the big screen).
Directed by Ron Howard, "Solo" tells us how Han Solo became Han Solo, which was apparently a concept audiences weren't particularly interested in at the time, since the flick ended up being the first box office bomb in "Star Wars" history. All that said, I think "Solo" is better than its reputation suggests. It's not a great movie, but it's not an abomination,...

Update: The rumors are true, folks! Scarlett Johansson is officially in talks to lead the new film in Universal’s Jurassic World franchise. The studio is moving faster than a Troodon after guzzling a can of Red Bull to get the project into production. Gareth Edwards directs the new Jurassic World film project from a script by Jurassic Park writer David Koepp. Universal is looking for dinosaurs to roar in theaters on July 2, 2025, giving the team a little more than a year to assemble the feature.
Universal’s Jurassic World film is another blockbuster franchise project for Johansson after she played Black Widow in many Marvel movies. She’s one of Hollywood’s most in-demand talents, especially after Oscar-worthy performances in films like Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit. Scarlett Johansson has found her next big franchise, and she's going to tangle with dinosaurs this time around. The "Black Widow" actor has officially entered talks to star in the new "Jurassic World" movie currently in the works at Universal Pictures. The project has been coming together very quickly behind the scenes in recent weeks. Should Johanson sign on the dotted line, it would provide some major A-list power to the proceedings.
The InSneider first reported the news a couple of weeks ago, but The Hollywood Reporter has now confirmed the development. There are currently no details on the character Johansson would be playing in the "Jurassic" universe. The indication is that this is going to be a fresh start for the franchise that could pave the way for a new trilogy. Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson is confirmed to be “in talks” for Gareth Edwards’ upcoming Jurassic World sequel, dubbed Jurassic City.
Update: Just a brief update on this one, as it’s more of a confirmation than a blazing hot news story: various Hollywood trade outlets have confirmed that Scarlett Johansson is in talks to take the lead in Gareth Edwards’ upcoming Jurassic Park or Jurassic World sequel, currently dubbed Jurassic City.
Reports of Johansson’s involvement first surfaced on the 14th March, but now Deadline writes that it’s “looking quite solid” that the Black Widow star is at least talking about starring in the next Jurassic film. It’s a project that Universal is hustling through the pipeline quite urgently, with its release date currently scheduled for July 2025.

Gareth Edwards' 2016 film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was the first non-episodic feature from the "Star Wars" canon after Disney notoriously purchased Lucasfilm in 2012. At the time, Disney announced a very ambitious plan for "Star Wars" which involved releasing a new film every Christmas. The odd-numbered years would boast numbered chapters in the central "Star Wars" canon, and the even-numbered years would feature spin-off movies that take place at other points in the vast "Star Wars" timeline. That plan lasted only five years.
The plan likely fell apart through a lack of creativity. "Rogue One" was a direct prequel to the original 1977 "Star Wars," telling the story of how the Rebels secured the blueprints to the Death Star. This wasn't a broad expansion of the "Star Wars" myth as promised, but an inward turn. "Rogue One" was an announcement that "Star Wars" had no interest in straying from its tightly-constrained,...

Back in the day, if you accidentally created a giant plot hole in your science fiction saga, you were done, your goose droid cooked, with nothing to look forward to but the prospect of future generations looking back scornfully at your ever-sullied work of cinema.
But then along came Star Wars: Rogue One, a movie that somehow made sense of all the really silly bits in 1977’s Star Wars, such as the climactic sequence in which Luke Skywalker managed to blow up the Death Star in his tiny little star fighter. It turned out (albeit nearly 40 years later) that this wasn’t a plot hole but an ingenious deliberate flaw in the giant planet-killing monstrosity’s system planted there by Imperial scientist Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen...

Matt Reeves’ The Batman and Denis Villeneuve’s Dunes: Part One share a unique but fascinating connection: their cinematography. Both films, despite being modern releases, boast a visual style reminiscent of the 1970s. This unique appearance was achieved by meticulous design.
Robert Pattinson as Batman
Reeves and his cinematographer Greg Fraser took a unique approach to capturing the visual elements of The Batman. Taking inspiration from gritty 1970s thrillers like Clute and All the President’s Men, they’ve deliberately opted for classic anamorphic lenses.

Welcome to a new era of "Star Wars," in more ways than one. Today's newly-released trailer for "The Acolyte" has been a long time coming, promising to delve into an older and more unknown period of history in the galaxy far, far away. Set over a century before the prequel movies during the epoch known as The High Republic, the upcoming Disney+ series will cover wholly new ground that fans have never seen before -- at least, those who haven't been keeping up with the various official tie-in novels released over the last few years. But filling in lore gaps in the canon isn't the only reason why this exciting new story should be on our radar, however. The talent involved in this series both in front of and behind the camera immediately sets it apart from any other to this point, although one name stands tall above the rest.

The films in the running for the 2024 Best Visual Effects Oscar are “The Creator,” “Godzilla Minus One,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,” and “Napoleon.” Our odds currently indicate that “Godzilla Minus One” (10/3) is the frontrunner, followed in order by “The Creator” (18/5), the new “Guardians” entry (9/2), “Napoleon” (9/2), and the latest “Mission: Impossible” chapter (9/2).
Included among the 17 individuals in this lineup are 13 first-timers who constitute the category’s largest newcomer rate since the minimum annual amount of nominated films was set at five in 2011. This vast majority comprises all four “Godzilla Minus One” team members, dual contender Simone Coco (“Mission: Impossible” and “Napoleon”), three artists from “The Creator”, two from “Guardians of the Galaxy” (Theo Bialek and Alexis Wajsbrot), two more from “Mission: Impossible” (Jeff Sutherland and Alex Wuttke), and one more from “Napoleon” (Luc-Ewen Martin-Fenouillet).
