Oh Shut Up

Yes, this season as a whole is guilty of pandering to the tumblr scene. They got rid of Larry, brought Alex back and gave her more attention, and threw in more sex scenes. My question is: So what? I don't care at all about tumblr, but they ARE one of the most vocal audiences of the show. What, the show is supposed to pander to purists who can't even explain their own arguments? The season did so much right. The plot twists were strong and unexpected (more so than 1 and 2), and the character development was spectacular, making me care about people that I was either indifferent to or that I'd even disliked before such as Soso, Norma, Flaca, Pennsatucky, and even Chang, among many others. Some people I really liked left the show, but it gave more focus to pretty much every other character and made for some powerful story lines that peaked in the latter half of the season. And to any Larry/Jason Biggs fans, wake up. He had no point in existing any further. His only purpose in the last season was to prove to Piper that he is a tool and that she shouldn't care about him anymore. His only extended storyline of note last season was his affair with Polly. For a main cast member, that's sad. The show had nothing to lose with his departure. As for this episode, while I do feel this is a relatively weak opener, I liked the idea of flashbacks for a bunch of different characters instead of multiple for just one or two people. They nail this concept in the finale. The season only picks up from here.

Orange is the New Black Season 3 Episode 1 Review : Acting : All the actors and actresses have performed well enough. Everyone has acted with full justice to their character. Story : For the sake of the writers, I would like to say that the last episode of the second session was good enough. How can the first episode of the third season be so badly written after the last episode of the second season was so good. Overall Episode : I have no complaints about any other department, everyone has done their job well. There are no complaints about the event background music. I gave this episode six out of ten stars for just one bad story.

Okay this episode is one of my least favourites and a disappointing start after an execellent character driven season two.

I really loved the first two seasons of this show, perfect amounts of drama, comedy, romance and it could just appeal to everybody. However, due to a large portion of the audience coming from Tumblr, promoting the show through it's more oddball moments by posting gifs and more quotable scenes, they have decided to completely ruin this show by appeasing to this specific audience and completely ruining any serious tone the show had going for it. It's completely everywhere! They have a really serious dramatic moment and then there's just the most ridiculous scene ever, it doesn't know what kind of show it wants to even be anymore. This is just garbage now and I'm so disappointed they stooped this low just to make the worst part of the demographic happier. GREAT JOB.
