- Peggy Olson: I don't hate kids.
- Stan Rizzo: Look, you got to a certain point in your life and it didn't happen. I understand you're angry about it, but you've got a lot of other things.
- Peggy Olson: Don't do that.
- Stan Rizzo: I mean it. You couldn't have done all you've done otherwise.
- Peggy Olson: I guess that's the secret to your spectacular career? The fact that you don't have kids?
- Stan Rizzo: Not that I know of!
- Peggy Olson: That's funny to you. Because it wouldn't matter if you did. You can walk away.
- Stan Rizzo: I would never do that.
- Peggy Olson: But you may not even know. That's what you said. It's been a long day.
- Stan Rizzo: You're right. I didn't mean to judge her.
- Peggy Olson: But you did and you don't understand it at all.
- Stan Rizzo: I had a mother. And she wasn't great. And I don't know that she wanted me, so I understand something.
- Peggy Olson: But you don't understand your mother.
- Stan Rizzo: Well, maybe I don't want to.
- Peggy Olson: Maybe she was very young. And followed her heart and got in trouble. And no one should have to make a mistake just like a man does and not be able to move on. She should be able to live the rest of her life just like a man does.
- Stan Rizzo: You're right.
- Peggy Olson: I know. Maybe you do what you thought was the best thing.
- Stan Rizzo: What did you do?
- Peggy Olson: I'm... I'm here. And...
- Stan Rizzo: Oh.
- Peggy Olson: He's with a family somewhere. I don't know, but it's not because I don't care. I don't know because you're not supposed to know. Or you can't go on with your life.
- Stan Rizzo: I'm sorry. I didn't know that.
- Peggy Olson: Well, you don't know lots of things about lots of people. That's the point.
- Stan Rizzo: No, it's not.
- Peggy Olson: I'm fine. I have work to do.
- Pete Campbell: [Picking up the phone to speak to his ex-wife] Well hello, Trudy. How are you?
- Trudy Campbell: Frankly, not good at all.
- Pete Campbell: What did I do?
- Trudy Campbell: No, it's Tammy. She was on the wait list at Greenwich Country Day and they promised her admission, but they didn't keep their word.
- Pete Campbell: What was she doing on the wait list at all? My father's entire family went to that school.
- Trudy Campbell: They know who you are, Peter, and they know who I am and they know that we're divorced.
- Pete Campbell: Greenwich, Connecticut is built on divorced money!
