As I Had Heard Great Things About The Original Comedy Playhouse I Was Looking Forward To The New Series. However, The First Two Shows Were Bland, Lame And A Waste Of BBC Money! But, The Last One, Monks, Had Me In Stitches, A Good Old Fashioned Comedy In A Modern Style Fitted The Bill For Me. It Concerns Gary, A Benefits Cheat, Who To Avoid Prosecution Joins A Monastery Where He Rails Against The Authority Of The Church.
As I Enjoy Most Classic Comedy I Found This A Worthy Competitor To Steptoe, Fawlty Towers etc. Overall A Great Pilot That Deserves A Series. Well Worth Watching.
