In this episode there are two time periods. The episode begins and ends at the time right after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) of the Original Trilogy, with the middle being a flash back to the prequel era. Within both of these time periods, Darth Vader flies a TIE fighter for a portion of the episode. During the Original Trilogy time (2:55) he is chasing the Millennium Falcon in his TIE ADVANCED fighter (You can distinguish this fighter by the elongated panels and large circular platform behind the ball cockpit.) The episode flashes back to the prequel era and Vader chases the Jedi school kids in a standard TIE fighter. During the chase (17:34) the two other TIE escorts smash into Vader's TIE and bend the panels. Vader is ejected and falls to the plant surface, but not before noticing the damage and admiring how it looks. (Supposedly inspiring him to design the future TIE ADVANCED.) When the episode cuts back to the present day (Original Trilogy) Vader is still chasing the Millennium Falcon in his TIE ADVANCED. But, moments later (20:02) when he follows the Falcon in and out of hyperspace and subsequently crashes onto Naboo, he is in the bent panel standard TIE fighter from the prequel era. (The animators used the wrong TIE model for this sequence. They should have used Vader's TIE ADVANCED.)
Ackbar's gunship was attacked by Imperial Star Destroyers, which weren't manufactured or used by the Separatists during the assumed timeline.
