A very interesting adaptation of this classic fairy-tale, such a shame this isn't more well known.
I like a lot its cut-out animation style, fitting perfectly well with its dark, almost dystopian atmosphere, yet at the same time, not lacking a certain whimsical element.
Here, Hansel and Gretel are depicted as a pair of androgynous twins, but there is small detail which I found pretty well done in comparison with other adaptations: The hunger that ultimately drives the father of the kids to abandon them in the forest is a detail that tends to be quite over-looked or toned down; here instead, he is accurately depicted as an emanciated man. Details like these might seem small, but are pretty effective for the overall result.
