Made as part of the Filmmaking (BA Hons) course at the Manchester School of Art (MMU).
Reuniting Jorge Walsh and Alex Clifford with the Cornerhouse. They both worked with Cornerhouse on 'Four Nerds And A Bird'.
Cameos from Jorge Walsh and Paul Austin appear in the film. Walsh appears in the bookshop, as well as talking about his first experience at Cornerhouse to see Metropolis. Austin is heard talking about Rough Cut during the closing montage.
The film opens with a shot of a plaque on the back of a cinema seat in the Cornerhouse's Cinema 1. The text on the plaque is the opening line to the poem 'Ave Maria' by Frank O'Hara.
Jorge Walsh spent a lot of time considering the use of music during the film. Initially, Walsh wanted to open with a montage of exteriors set to George Gershwin's 'Rhapsody In Blue', though he couldn't find enough information about the copyright status of the music in the UK. Walsh then considered composing ambient music himself, inspired by the works of Brian Eno, however, he felt that the film would work better without any music.
