Awkward and uncomfortable in the most hilarious way

"Jeuk" is a Dutch TV-show that I find myself getting drawn back to quite often. The acting is good and the situations are lifelike and believable.

The protagonist seems to always find himself in the most uncomfortable or awkward position possible. This is often partly due to the selfish way he treats others, but still his actions are really understandable and you could see yourself doing the same thing. Also his friends seem to often manipulate him or catch him at just the wrong time in the wrong place, which still makes you feel sorry for the character.

All in all this is a very amusing show, with every episode usually cracking me up at some point or another. The perfect solution if you feel like cringing over actually good content.

One of the best sitcoms (not just Dutch)

I am a great fan of the English humour and sitcoms with 'embarrassment' as a main theme. Fawlty Towers is one shining example, but many more have exactly that as a guideline.

Jeuk is Dutch, partly improvised, and people playing enlarged versions of themselves. It resembles 'curb your enthousiasm' in that way. Actually, I think that series was the inspiration!

Paul Acda and Peter Heerschop play themselves and get themselves into incredible situations. Sometimes out of bad luck but mostly bad choices and by trying to avoid embarrassment.

But, go see it. It is great and I can watch it over and over again. You won't be sorry.
