Funding for Moose began with a Kickstarter Campaign that raised $64,185.
In the scene where the first victims are found no special effects blood was brought to location. Ketchup and cherry juice from the craft service table were mixed with dirt to produce the effect. As a result flies were drawn to the bloody concoction and allowed the production team to get the serendipitous shots of the flies crawling on the corpses.
The seeds of the film began in the mind of Chad Carpenter, the creator of the syndicated comic strip Tundra, on the long drive between Fairbanks and Wasilla Alaska.
This movie was made in Alaska by Alaskans staring Alaskans.
Through out the film you can see references to Bleeding Heart Brewery. This is an actual micro brewery owned and operated by the film's star Zack Lanphier.
