Shamir is the latest artist to take on a song from Sharon Van Etten’s Epic in honor of the indie classic’s 10th anniversary.

“I was drawn to Shamir’s music by the immediate authenticity and originality of his voice and instrumentation choices,” Van Etten said in a statement. “It felt simultaneously throwback and very here and now. So many genres melting into one another,...

Eleven years after releasing the indie-rock touchstone Epic, Sharon Van Etten has enlisted an impressive group of artists from Fiona Apple to Courtney Barnett — to cover the entirety of her debut album.
The latest preview of Epic Ten, the deluxe version of Van Etten’s debut due next month, comes from roots singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams. Williams slows down her selection, “Save Yourself,” transforming the song’s sprightly indie riff-rock into murky Louisiana blues.

Never heard of Incarnate? Of course not – it’s another under-the-radar Blumhouse special without any marketing campaign, starring a random Hollywood actor (Aaron Eckhart) who’s seemingly thrown to the proverbial low-budget production wolves.
Much like The Darkness or Visions or The Veil, there’s a reason why Blumhouse is sweeping Incarnate under the mainstream rug – much to director Brad Peyton’s despair – but, frankly, it’s the film’s own fault. Maybe Blumhouse would have been a little more sympathetic if this demonic possession flick wasn’t so-generic-it-hurts boring, even with a dash of Wachowski magic added to the fold (by way of The Matrix inspiration). Also, can someone please save David Mazouz from 2016 already, so he can stop starring in underwhelming Blumhouse horror fare?
Eckhart stars as family-man-turned-wheelchair-riding-super-exorcist Dr. Seth Ember, whose specialty is “evicting” demons (aka “parasites”) from the minds of possessed victims. He figured out that...

Allison: I vote yes. Save Yourself, Mike! Mike would be able to escape Gallo's grasp, and he could return to his life, whatever that looks like now that he can't be a lawyer.
Jasmine: Ughhhh! I'm still not sure if I actually trust Kevin, but he did put himself out there for Mike. I really don't want him to because principles. Damn those principles.
Stacy: No, I don't think it's in Mike's nature to do that. I think he would have a hard time living with that decision if he did it.

In The Drownsman, now out on Blu-ray from Anchor Bay, Ry Barrett superbly plays the titular antagonist, and we caught up with the actor to discuss the 1980s horror movie villains that influenced his performance, his thoughts on reprising the role, and more.
Thanks for taking the time to chat about The Drownsman. I thought it was a fun and frightening film with a 1980s-esque vibe.
Ry Barrett: It is definitely a throwback to those kinds of movies. That is exactly what drew me to it. I’m staring at a stack of my DVDs right now and they’re full of A Nightmare on Elm Street, Candyman—all those sorts of characters I grew up with and always loved to get freaked out by. The second I heard of the opportunity to play a character like that, I was all over it.

A killer new poster design for Heir has been released. Looks pretty sick to us!
Heir, the final entry in the "Box Cutter Trilogy" produced by Fatal Pictures in association with Red Sneakers Media is set to hit the festival circuit soon.
The final short in the trio of linked shorts each representing “different theories on the origin and operation of sociopaths” sports Practical FX, which should make horror fans cheer. Read our exclusive interview with Heir Writer/Director Richard Powell and Producer Zach Green here.
Check out a larger version of the poster below as well as a couple movie stills and watch for a review on MoreHorror.com soon!

You know her best for her role as Beatress Johnson in American Mary, but Tristan Risk has been a very busy girl lately, and she's about to break big. She sat down with Dread Central to talk about her work, past and future.
Little Miss Risk is a compelling performer, a staunch horror fan and a charismatic interviewee. She talked about her beginnings, her affinity for her beloved character Beatress and the loads of work she's done since. Risk is as witty as she is alluring and we're sure you'll enjoy reading her interview as much as we enjoyed speaking with her.
We started at the very beginning and asked Risky how she got started in the acting business. "I've been a performer all my life," Risk said. "That's everything from doing stage shows, school plays, musicals, things at my grandpa's church. I didn't go to the church, but still performed in the recitals.

Jessica Cameron is a success story. It was not that long ago that the beautiful up-and-coming filmmaker/scream queen was toiling away at a desk job she hated, wishing for something more.
Cameron chased that dream and is now an award-winning filmmaker. She recently sat down with Dread Central to talk about her newest projects.
So how, exactly, did she go from desk jockey to movie star? "Fluke," Cameron said.
She explained, "I went to school for fashion design. I've always been drawn to creative careers. I got hired out of my university by a major company, and for the first three months I thought everything was going fine. Then comes my first review and they have a big problem. I was shocked to learn that their problem was with my speech. They thought I spoke too fast. So they required me to take classes, and when I couldn't find any actual speech classes,...

New Clip from The Well and Screening Details: “At the edge of an expansive barren valley, all that remains of The Wallace Farm for Wayward Youth is a few hollowed-out husks of buildings. Kendal and the few others that remain barely scrape by, while dreaming of escape. When a greedy water baron lays claim to what little of the precious resource remains underground, Kendal must decide whether...
