Strong performance by Omari Hardwick
vincentlynch-moonoi8 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If you're expecting light fluff, you're going to be disappointed.

Much of this film is about realistic hardship -- losing a husband/father to war, near-poverty, having dinner at Wal-Mart, a teen child having a bad drug experience (as well as other adolescent problems), and a woman trying to pick up the pieces and keep her family together (in every sense of the word).

The standout here is Omari Hardwick. He should have been very proud of his performance here. However, the whole cast does well.

Naturally, there's a happy ending (after all, it's a Christmas movie!), but this is one film that does a pretty good job of portraying real life, and real life is not always pretty.

Recommended.

A nice heartwarming Christmas Movie...Solid 7 Stars!
huggibear21 November 2017
This is a good family film for the holidays. It's got good lessons for teenagers and our youth. I would recommend watching it on an early night a few hours after dinner, maybe 7-8pm. Grab the entire family with the teenagers and the little children, light the fireplace if you have one, and relax in the family room with a large bowl of popcorn. Most families would enjoy this kind of movie because it touches upon some emotional topics concerning today's modern lifestyles. Just don't watch this alone, unless you must. Wait until you have others to watch it with. I watched it alone and could have watched it with others. Still a very good 'family' flick! The only downside to this movie is the fact that it could have been stretched out a little bit longer to include character relationship developments, however the closure was sufficient. This should have been included under the family genre instead of just in the drama genre. Enjoy the holidays!

I Loved It!!

This movie was absolutely amazing. The chemistry between Lisa Arrindell Anderson and Omari Hardwick is one that makes you forget you are watching a movie. The characters portrayed in this movie are so realistic, just pure raw emotions. 100% believable this could be me or anyone. I am so thankful that there are more and more beautiful story lines written and produced showing African Americans in normal life struggles without degrading and self-loathing roles. A Christmas blessing pulled me in and took me on a roller-coaster ride of laughter and tears. Without spoiling the movie it is a must see with a wonderful cast, beautiful story line and heart felt drama from beginning to end. The only thing I'm waiting for is the DVD version so I can watch it again and again. Thanks & Bravo!!! Russ Parr 

Warning: Spoilers
A Christmas Blessing is unique it its approach to telling a Christmas story. I was very impressed with its positive display of African American men. I am so tired of seeing our men depicted as thugs, dope peddlers and thieves. The worst is when all the movie show is that the father is in jail. All black men are NOT in jail! (ugghhhh). There are some good ones out there. I can really appreciate Russ Parr showing us a tidbit of what REALLY goes on inside single parent homes. It is also very refreshing to see the side of a REAL man's point of view that loves his children. I pray that women will open their eyes and see that keeping their children from their fathers is a grave mistake and it only exacerbates the problem we have in the African American community with broken families. I love me some Tyler Perry but it is time for other writers/producers to step up and show their talent! Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Family Holiday Movie Love it!!

First off thanks to Russ Parr for such an awesome story line!!! I love how the movie showed so many different twist and turns and the chemistry amongst the kids were awesome the acting felt real and connected with my children especially teens. The teen girl who played "Kara" Bravo to her she is a natural born STAR!!!! My teenager all said they have been pressured and wanted to fit in which I had no idea so the many trials Kara went through really helped my teen daughter with being OK with staying true to herself. Thank you Kara the drug scene and scene in the hospital Really touched me... She deserves to be recognized for this role!!! Thank you again Russ Parr for showing many people that combined families can work . I can't wait to watch this movie again. My daughters are huge fans of Kara!!! Excited about Russ Parr next movie soon my family hopes. Happy New Year.

Sweet on a Real Level
nataliewelcome26 December 2021
Family-friendly movie with positive messages for kids and adults. Fell in love with all of the main characters, as they were very realistic to me, experiencing wins and losses, displaying strengths and weaknesses. I ran the spectrum of emotions, feeling hopeful, hopeless, excited, anxious, angry, relieved, happy...just emotional. Wish the movie had been longer. I was totally invested when the end credits started rolling.
