Cute anime OVA featuring a talking poster
chribren9 November 2013
"Lunn Flies into the Wind" is an fantasy anime OVA from 1985, directed by Osamu Tezuka. The running time is around 24 minutes. This is the second Tezuka anime I'm reviewing about here, the first one was "Midori no Neko" (The Green Cat).

Basic plot: A lonely boy named Akira Toyoda is randomly passing by a poster while walking down the street. He falls in love with the pretty girl named Lunn, who is pictured on this poster. Having taken the poster home to him, Akira soon gets a big surprise: This poster can talk.

This anime is a cute little short anime which has a somewhat uncommon storytelling: It is not often we get to see an anime having talking poster in it. Even the animation itself is somewhat cute too. The character design is pretty typical Tezuka, hence the fact this anime was directed by Osamu Tezuka.

In 2003, this anime has been re-released on Japanese DVD, on the same disc as an another short OVA called "Yamataro Comes Back", also directed by Tezuka.

So mostly for the cuteness of the anime and the original story in it, I give this an overall rating 8/10,
