Pleasant little series

The Justice Lease is a comedy series about superheroes taking place in a shared DC/Marvel universe. It's a world where the superheroes are real and because they are celebrities, they have movies made about them. The premise is fairly simple: each superhero wants his movie to be the best and to portray him well. The series focuses on the daily lives of a group of such superheroes.

The series is a low-budget production, but it doesn't affect its quality. On the contrary, it is obvious that it was created by people who are passionate about what they are doing. It is clear that it was done for the fun of it and not for the money. The fact that the creators didn't even try to recreate the heroes' costumes, but instead dressed them in a way only vaguely resembling their comic book originals is the best example of not taking the superheroes seriously. This is a nice break from the blockbuster superhero movies, which while featuring funny scenes are also full of pomposity.

The writing, the acting, and the costumes create a feeling that the superheroes are real people, with their own faults and secrets. An additional bonus for the fans of superheroes in cinema is the fact that the series references - and makes fun of - a number of Batman, Superman and Hulk movies. All in all the series is a pleasant, quick watch and I would recommend it to anybody who likes superheroes and comedy combined.
