One of the longest shorts by Gianlugi Toccafondo, and also the weakest one in my opinion, showing very little of his usual visual creativity.
Here the animation aspect feels more like a gimmick instead of the gorgeous stylization present in the rest of his work, where the use of rotoscoping served to generate lots of surreal gorgeous imagery, akin to paintings in motion.
By contrast, Thugs with No Legend could have easily been a live-action short, since very little is done with the animation aspect. And in fact, most of the short consists merely of live-action footage using a filter.
While not being bad, it's definitely disappointing, specially considering how its director is able to do much better stuff.
