I watched an interesting 33 minute recap of a BET mini series 'Vixens' (via YouTube) that covered the explosion, rise and fall of black ladies at the height of hip-hop / rap music videos. It ended up being a good crash course because 'Hip Hop Honeys' only focuses on the obvious female sights and style. The shocking part is it isn't hotter.
A minute long montage intro with a nice track sets the stage then Jayde Steele intro's the video saying a quick word in a red bikini. She also has the first opening number getting topless from a bronze bikini on a couch (4 mins). Now Crystal Knight (host) slips from a black dress in a bathtub looking glamorous full nude with some nice closeups of her body (2.5 mins). "Game Girls Rock The House" sees them at a craps table that quickly gets down to many topless and one lady on top (2 mins).
Destiny in all camo - vest, leggings, bra - strips, chats and smokes a blunt. Her boobs get the most focus, but they show her butt in a camo thong (3 mins). Chyna is topless on a bed then to a rooftop she gets fully nude but no real attention gets shown downstairs (3 mins). Jennifer says she's 100% Puerto Rican and gets down to only a thong showing off her tight body (3 mins). Panther features in a dance number ending up topless as a female DJ spins tracks and gets her butt highlighted (3 mins). Rene Li wiggles around in a bikini and her butt gets shown off, but never gets naked (3 mins).
Mary on a rooftop gets out of her bikini and no shortage of kitty shots (almost 3 mins). A brief clip of many ladies on a rooftop, pool leads to Lelia topless, see thru black bra and then fully nude (2 mins). Rosie on a couch shows off her luscious long legs before being joined by Tiffany. Both get topless & have their butts shown off bent over in thongs as whipped cream & strawberries come into play (3 mins). The video wraps on a few interludes that provide some topless shots, talk and party vibes.
The rest of 'Hip Hop Honeys' consists of playing up the "Game" brand, quick music artist & celebrity soundbites or scenes at clubs which didn't do much for me. Featured music is simple background tracks and not popular licensed tunes from big artists. I like the central idea of attractive black women - some who did music videos - getting naked, but this doesn't give nonstop visuals and much of it ends up being kinda tame. They made a series out of this concept and I hope it gets better from here.
