A celebrity chef named Stanley Drake arrives on The Island for a demonstration, together with a small band of accomplished chefs, midway through thr competition, Drake dies, having been poisoned.
The actual case didn't particularly grab me, and I didn't really care about Drake, he was a little anonymous, but I really did like the solution, very relevant, it'll put you in mind of a well known Agatha Christie novel.
The biggest mystery, why did Lucky leave the island, abandoning her close friendship with Catherine? Therein lies the problem, that sub plot was wah more interesting than the actual crime itself, it just didn't really grab me.
Once again I feared they were going to use the old 'it's all in the book trick' once again, a plot device they've used several times in the past.
Cracking performance from the legendary Kate Robbins, I think she's great, she stood out here, famous of course for Spitting Image, but she's so much more, super talented, and a great singer, glad we're seeing more of her lately, she's wonderful.
6/10.
