Ewwwww

Warning: Spoilers
I'm usually a little cynical when other reviews complain about irrelevant family members "popping out of the woodwork" to be in a new documentary. But this time, I feel that sentiment. The episode is hyped up by Yolanda Saldivar's extended family by using the term "the secrets" they know, similar to a YouTube fat-loss hype video, which I guess is something these people have never seen before. After one episode, "the secrets" are: a resignation document that never left Yolanda's purse (locked in a safe) the day of the shooting, meant to look like it was typed by a lawyer despite never being signed or notarized; and a series of answering machine voicemails made by Selena to Yolanda in early March simply requesting that Yolanda pick up the phone/call her back, and announcing that Selena will be back in town to try to connect with her over financials. (And a brief cliff-hanger mention of a "love letter" that may be discussed in the next episode.) These all clearly support the known facts of premeditation by Yolanda, and frustration & suspicion from Selena's family...yet Yolanda's family sit around a kitchen table literally in tears, with sad music in the background, about how this somehow proves Yolanda's story. When Yolanda is interviewed in prison, the change in her voice from discussing known facts to discussing her story about the day of the shooting & related events leading up to it is quite disturbing and sickening (the stuttering is a major give-away). After watching various true crime episodes where even serial killers can speak truthfully (while often detached) about the facts after they have been caught, hearing Yolanda's continued defamation of Selena, her refusal to take any responsibility for her behavior, and listening to her brainwashed nieces is on another level of disturbing.

Terrible

Warning: Spoilers
Documentary was a waste of time and distasteful. Nothing in this series made me feel that the tragedy of the late great Selena was an accident and she's remorseful. I hope this gets placed in the archives. However, if anyone on Yolanda's parole board watches this, I highly doubt they will judge in her favor. Complete trash. Family of Yolanda's giving their thoughts and lying about what they believe to be the truth in which ultimately the goal is to have her released from prison in 2025 was a miss! Yolanda spent the majority of the time saying Selena's father didn't trust her and he was after her. Well, after all these years you don't think he had a good reason?

I'm sorry does she want the world to feel sorry for her after she robbed and killed from a family that treated her like a family member, She was paid on top of that. How can someone sit there and say I didn't buy a gun to kill it was for my safety. Why did she shoot Selena in the back after she was leaving and upset cause she trusted this woman. She had alot of time to get her sorry ass story together to make it look she is the innocent one here. If anyone believes this crock I really feel sorry for you too. She stole from this family for years and upset cause she was caught. Now let's feel sorry for her, Cause she has a documentary out and sure a book.

Terrible! Shouldn't have been made

This show is the absolute most horrible depiction from a convicted killer I have ever seen. Yolanda and her family are NOT remorseful. They are not taking responsibility for Yolanda being a damn killer. Everything she says is bull crap. Yolanda claims to be so afraid of Selena's father so why not take it out on him? Why kill Selena? Yolanda and her family are trash on this documentary. I was sick watching it. I don't care what they say. Nothing that woman says can excuse her from being a cold hearted killer. This documentary needs to be removed. Her family is clearly biased. They all sit around trying to prove that Yolanda was justified in being a murderer. I honestly don't understand the point of this entire documentary. It's ridiculous. I do not recommend that anyone watch this and I hope there's a protest at her parole next year.
