I am on the fence about The Conners ending. It is disappointing and sad to see a show with such a rich legacy for 35 years go away, but if these are the episodes we get then it is definitely time.
The Darlene scenes were not particularly funny, but whenever this show focuses on her career it somehow ends up being interesting. She has had a long journey from youth to mother and seeing someone experience the kind of real world problems we all deal with on TV is good to see.
But you can go almost an entire episode without laughing at all here, and that is not what a comedy should be, even one on ABC.
