The sixth most popular programme in the BBC-only chart, with 9.55 million viewers. Ironically, the programme that beat it to fifth place with an extra 0.15m viewers was Episode #4.1 (1984), a chat show hosted by the previous presenter of Blankety Blank.
Les does several impressions in this episode which can't be classified as movie connections as they don't relate to a specific film. Examples include Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne and W.C. Fields.
Les's decision to ask an elderly contestant if she'd ever worked at Motley Hall is an unusually obscure reference for the programme. The contestant appears not to know the reference, repeating the phrase with a confused expression. This reaction isn't surprising - not only had The Ghosts of Motley Hall (1976) finished airing six years earlier, but as it was a children's series, it was one she would have been unlikely to have seen.
