The pun-filled idioms fly in this short animated film
llltdesq2 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is an animated short by Amanda Koh and Mollie Helms. There will be spoilers ahead:

You know pretty much what you're in for when the principal characters are The Skeleton In the Closet and The Elephant In the Room. The aim seems to be to see how many idioms can be used in the short tying them to visual punnish representations. The effect is very good.

The Skeleton has all the dialog, while the Elephant simply looks accusingly at the Skeleton, though there are some physical gestures from the Elephant. There are some purely visual gags, such as the Skeleton crying "crocodile tears" at one point and a coffee cup with the name "Joe" on it and a couple of particularly good unspoken idioms I won't spoil here.

Most of the puns here have both a verbal utterance of an idiom followed by a visual gag connecting them together. There are also some just plain puns, like the Skeleton saying, "I'm falling apart!" and then doing so. It's a fun-filled not quite three minutes.

The close of the cartoon has a listing of the various idioms referenced, for anyone interested. This short can be found online and is well worth tracking down. Recommended.
