In Season 1 of The Big Bang Theory (2007), in The Pancake Batter Anomaly (2008), Sheldon speaks of this trip, saying it was the only time he was sick alone because his mom went home. He says the dorm mother didn't speak English, saying something in German he didn't understand which led to him getting an enema. Here Sheldon speaks fluent German with those around him as he explores Europe, and this sickness is still to come as his mom is still with him.
When Mrs Cooper speaks on the phone with a police officer in Germany, she describes Sheldon as being five foot ten. The German officer immediately reacts, as can be deduced from Mrs Cooper's reply: "Well, he is little to ...." No Germans or other residents of mainland Europe would right away get a notion of how big a person, five foot ten, is. It would take some time to calculate that Sheldon is 178 cm tall. Body height is measured in feet and inches only in the English-speaking world.
Although strudel has become a dish synonymous with Germany abroad, it is a development of Austrian cuisine. You wouldn't find it at any food stand at a German train station, much less would there be such a stand that would only sell this one pastry. Weinheim train station in the northwest of the German state of Baden-Württemberg is also not a region where strudel would be popular in this way.
