We have new techno sci fi here with a man locked into a space, going on a mission for the first time. Other than his own survival from whatever there is, what is the conflict. A very jarring film which gets us bounced around and then.....what? So, what is the attraction for this guy and are his antagonists real? Don't know.

Warning: Spoilers
"Mis-drop" is a 14-minute live action short film from New Zealand. This came out back in 2013, so it will have its 5th anniversary next year. the writer and director is Ferand Peek, a visual effects artist on the Hobbit films. But as for "Mis-drop", this is his only effort as writer, director and producer in his career. Sadly, I cannot say I want to see more from him really. The one-position camera during large parts of the film is something that has worked well on many occasions and the lead actor here does an okay job too, really giving his best and still it's not really working out. This also has a negative impact eventually on the second more action packed half while the first half is more about dialogues and listening. So yeah, here we have a really futuristic Sci-Fi film and people who love the genre can check it out without being too disappointed or impressed I guess. I personally would not recommend it to anybody else though except the people who love the aforementioned genre. I give it a thumbs-down.
