The first episode of this documentary shows the night of the fatal crush in Itaewon through captured footage from people's phones and CCTV, as well as through the description of a near death experience by several survivors both Korean and American. It actually made me cry it's so very sad, and such a horrifying thing to imagine as people described the minutes of agony as people passed out and sometimes died right in front of them, thinking they were next. It's such a strange phenomenon too that some people were able to survive while 158 people were crushed to death, one woman barely survived but is now completely healed after spending months in a hospital.
In the second episode, questions are raised as to why it happened. Apparently some older people who are very conservative actually blamed younger people for going out and drinking on Halloween, as if they were "asking for it," while it seems that police bias against young party-goers in the Itaewon district was the true evil afoot. All in all, a very dark and serious documentary but done with a light style that doesn't drag on and on. However, some people may want more details after only two succinct episodes. There is apparently no resolution to the legal case around one year later.
