9 for Caleb

I was a huge fan of season 1. I still enjoy the show somewhat but the quality has been unstable for a while.

This Episode is the first time since the shame wizard and Bernie I feel a new componenthas been added that totally fits and adds to the quality of the show. The focus on Caleb was very refreshing and funny. I was pleasantly surprised. The dynamic between him and Matthew was very wholesome and sweet.

I have some issues myself and although not totally similar to Caleb it was cool to see a POV of a character like him. It felt different and faithful without abandoning the premise and structure of the show. This was some quality stuff.

Best Episode in Years

This episode weirdly made me emotional. Maybe it was cause I was a little drunk. Or lonely. I don't know. It was probably just the good writing though. And the stellar side characters taking over. It was a breathe of great air. I've really enjoyed this season (way more than last season) but this episode rose above the rest!

Caleb really getting a moment to shine was just wonderful. His best friend for dummies book was great. The way he interacts with Maury is a break from the norm. It was all good.

And I learned how Dippin Dots are made and I honestly didn't love that. Kinda ruined it for me.

All the Feels

Caleb got his spotlight and he did not disappoint. I absolutely love the handling of a neurodiverse character. The show of friendship at the end when Matthew showed the right way to handle a situation where someone is overstimulated was by far one of the best parts of the season. Caleb's Friendship for Dummy's book made me laugh and want Matthew and Caleb to succeed as friends even more. I felt all the warm fuzzies by the end of the episode. Missy's anxiety that leads to dread is very familiar to me and I appreciate the representation of overwhelming sense of doom. Keep up the good work. This season was very refreshing compared to previous two. I liked them, but this one was much better.

Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't sure what to expect when I dove into season 7, but it was much more accurate than I had thought prior to watching. This is episode specifically focuses on two of my favorite characters, Missy and Caleb. While Missy is having anxiety attack in the changing rooms, Jessi leaves her to go spy on her high school bully, Lulu. Missy feels abandoned, and her anxiety attack spirals even further into dread. This was insanely accurate as to how a ton of people with anxiety feel, and how it can feel like there's no hope left. Even with the power of the Gratitoad, she still is unable to overcome the pure terror of Dread. This was one of the most relatable parts of the episode, since having anxiety feels completely impossible to overcome. This episode actually made me start crying, because before watching I had just had two panic attacks in the same day, and it was really comforting to know that I'm not alone, and that everyone really does struggle with anxiety in the same way I do. Being a 17 year-old, I constantly feel like I'm dissapointing my parents, and that I'm going to spiral out of control. This episode really put things in perspective for me. Thanks, Nick Kroll!
