Reminds of a 2006 bootleg recording from the theatres
alexdancerlife14 October 2023
First of all, the storyline isn't the problem. But everything else is. I almost had to turn it off in the second scene of the film it was so bad.

Let's do audio first. The audio goes in and out, so you definitely need subtitles. They play the background music louder than the actors' voices. And the background music rarely matches the mood of the scene. On top of that you can literally hear the mic (picture something tapping a microphone) more than once.

Okay visual next. Y'all...it's almost comical how bad the visual is. I almost got mad. The cameraman just panned over to whatever he wants to look at at the time. One person is speaking, but you don't know who it is because they aren't on camera at the time. Weird right? Also, when someone is talking the cameraman decides it's best to cover half the screen with the back of another actor's head. Very 2006 bootleg video out the back of a truck.

Acting is subpar at best. And the editing doesn't help. There are two times in the courtroom scene where the same line was repeated twice, as if the editor just skimmed it instead of watching. Another scene in the bathroom where the actress messed up her line and then fixed it. 'It would be dishonest of me to say he's guilty. I mean it would be dishonest of me to say he's not guilty.' And they just left it in there.

Overall it just gives lazy, low budget, and rushed. If you don't have the funds for a great quality movie, at least have the passion and care to edit it into something.

The only reason I gave this two stars is because the storyline is actually pretty good. If done correctly, this could have sold out in movie theatres. But actually having to watch it is painful.

So much promise, so little substance

I was so disappointed. The concept of this story has so much potential. The writing was horrible and the audio track was even worse. The "suspenseful" music editing made it next to impossible to hear the mediocre dialogue at many points. The court scene at the beginning was absolutely horrible and the acting in it even worse. The tired trope of the angry black woman was beaten to death and let's not forget the white woman who saves the day. I'm shocked that all those actresses of color tolerated this. A better writer-director-editing team could do it justice. Many of the actresseses have skills. Not all. This is an hour and a half of my life I will never get back.

The concept is the only interesting thing here.

I can't believe anyone allowed this "story" to be birthed. I am an avid fan of film and television, and I can enjoy all manner of entertainment, depending on my mood. This is not entertainment. This is not entertaining. This is not art. This is an insult to the industry and the art form of storytelling and filmmaking itself. I have never watched a film and actually been angry when I finished. I feel as though my life has been wasted. Someone spent time, talent and money in this and they could have done ANYTHING else. Film should either inspire, entertain, educate or do SOMETHING. There is nothing good about this. If you want to wind down and enjoy a really good piece of entertainment.. stay as far away from this as possible. I can appreciate every person who has a passion to WORK in the industry who was a part of this trash. That said, I would remove your name from this.

THE most compelling, seamless masterpiece of our time!
joel_steele14 October 2023
Stumbled upon this 5 karat diamond in the rough on Peacock and was immediately blown away by every key aspect of modern filmmaking. A seamless story that kept me on the edge of my seat paired with thought-provoking, deep, and meaningful dialogue were only the tip of the iceberg. I was floored by the expert cast assembled for 'Women of the Jury' and couldn't have dreamed for a better script or plethora of relatable backstories. The direction, cinematography, and screenplay are all rivaled by the likes of other tentpole classics such as 'The Godfather' or 'Pulp Fiction'. Run, don't walk to your nearest streaming device to watch as this star-studded cast works to elicit the strongest of emotions in any true cinephile's heart. This has truly become a frequent "must watch" for me and my entire family. For one of the most unfortunate viewing experiences of my life, I will never forget nor regret this modern (if not VASTLY improved upon) take on '12 Angry Men'. The likes of Henry Fonda and Sidney Lumet could only have wished to craft such a compelling masterpiece that Ericka Pinkett and Mark K. Buddington have so graciously gifted us all. We should only be so lucky as to have lived in a time where this perfect film exists to cherish forever. 10/10.
