While most mainstream, big-budget horror games seem to be more action-oriented, for better or worse, indie titles have been carrying the torch for more old-school survival horror philosophies. Puppet Combo games like Murder House and Nun Massacre have cornered the market on the grimy grindhouse-style schlock of early Resident Evils, while last year’s Signalis took the vibes and structure of the first few Silent Hill games and brought it into a beautiful modern sci-fi setting. Homebody, the newest game developed by the people behind the web series Game Grumps, finds itself somewhere on that spectrum, capturing the feeling of the ever expanding mansion of Re with the surrealism and puzzles of Silent Hill.
Homebody casts you as Emily, a woman battling her anxieties as she goes to meet her long-time friends at an isolated rental house to watch the Perseid meteor shower. As you all catch up on what...

Residents of eight metropolitan areas across Europe will get a chance to see three of YouTube's most popular personalities in real life. Game Grumps, the channel hosted by Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan, will join up with fellow gamer Seán "Jacksepticeye" McLoughlin for a tour called Ready Player 3.
At each stop on Ready Player 3, its trio of starring gamers will entertain attendees with a combination of jokes, games, and question-and-answer sessions. The tour is expected to draw large crowds thanks to the popularity the personalities on display. McLoughlin channel, which boasts more than 16 million subscribers, is one of YouTube's most frequented hubs. Game Grumps has four million subscribers of its own, and Hanson and Avidan were recently able to parlay the success of their channel into a YouTube Red series called Good Game.

I love Shovel Knight. I love Game Grumps. I love Nintendo. So, how happy was I to see all three of them working together on a video? So Happy!
This is a weird video to be sure that looks very much like some late night phone hotline, but it gets its point across very well. In it, it is revealed that three new Shovel Knight Amiibo figures will be released in a 3 pack. The three included are Plague Knight, Spectre Knight, and King Knight. They will have bonuses that unlock for their respective games in the Shovel Knight Series.
If you haven't played Shovel Knight and enjoy old school gaming, then this is definitely something worth buying. I myself and very pleased with the thought of this, and even though, it's been awhile since I've bought any new Amiibo figures, I can see this being on my purchase list soon.

Something tells me this didn't run by the desk of Nintendo Japan before going live. That's fine if that's the case because the fact that Nintendo teamed up with Game Grumps Arin Hanson aka Egoraptor to make a sexually charged commercial about Shovel Knight Amiibo is absolutely awesome. I'm still in shock that someone allowed something like this to happen at Nintendo, but I hope they do more goofy stuff like this!

I swear this is probably the last Game Grumps related post in a while, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share a video of Dan Harmon playing the Cat In The Hat videogame (based on the Mike Myers film) - whether it involved them or not (because, to be fair, I feel Game Grumps are pretty hit-and-miss, honestly). It also appears it's related to the fact that he's executive producing their new YouTube Red show Game... Read More...

If you know anything about eSports then you know that they’ve gained a ton of attention in the past decade or so. The number of people signing on to play eSports has been insane, and the prizes that people can win have been going up and up since its inception. Some people might claim that eSports are not nearly the same as live competition and they’d be right, but eSports has its own set of challenges that a lot of people don’t seem to know about. It might still be hard to equate an eSport player with an actual athlete,

Two of the most popular creators on YouTube are ready to get their game on. Game Grumps, the channel hosted by wisecracking players Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan, has shared the trailer for its upcoming series Good Game, which will arrive for YouTube Red subscribers on August 30.
In Good Game, Hanson and Avidan will portray a pair of couch potatoes who decide to take charge of their lives by participating in a fictional e-sports tournament called "Blood Match." In order to vie for the title, they must first cobble together a team of misfits who can match the skills of the competition's robotic, precise favorites. The conceit sounds a lot like Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, but with a modern day twist that could attract viewers from one of the entertainment industry's most passionate communities. Comedy nerds will also dig the presence of Community and Rick & Morty's Dan Harmon, who...

On July 20, Dream Daddy -- a dating simulator published by Game Grumps -- arrived for players, and since then, it has experienced a wave of viral popularity. It quickly became the top-selling title on Steam, and as of this post, it continues to draw considerable attention.

Chris Pratt is one of Hollywood's biggest stars, but he's also a good sport when it comes to his fans. Back in April 2016, the webseries Game Grumps - who are avid fans of Chris - poked a little fun at the actor when they posted a photo of themselves with a watermelon with his name written on it in Sharpie. "Holy crap we got this Totally Real picture with Chris Pratt today!" they tweeted. "This Is Not Photoshopped!!!" Of course Chris, being the amazing person that he is, couldn't leave them hanging and crafted the perfect response, which is once again making the rounds online. "I can confirm. That is 100 percent me," he wrote. Whether he's posting funny childhood pictures on social media or giving a shout-out to his fans, Chris always knows how to make us laugh. Check out the funny throwback exchange below. Holy crap we got this...

YouTube Red has just ordered a handful of new series for audiences to watch. They include a sequel series to the teleportation thriller Jumper, which Doug Liman is attached to direct; a time-travel series from Dwayne Johnson tentatively called Lifeline; and an eSports series from Community creator Dan Harmon.
The Jumper sequel series is called Impulse, and it's based on the third novel in the Jumper book series. The story for it centers on "a rebellious 16-year-old girl, who has always felt different from her peers and has longed to escape from her seemingly quaint small town. When a local drug dealer attempts to assault her, she discovers her extraordinary ability to teleport. This newfound power confirms her conviction that she really is different from everybody else, but it now makes her the focus of those who want to control her."
This sounds like it could be a fun series.

Rooster Teeth’s upcoming programming slate will include some new projects as well as a few fresh twists for existing shows. The Austin-based studio has announced three programs that will premiere over the next few months: The 14th season of Red Vs. Blue, a Rwby spin-off called Rwby Chibi, and an animated comedy called Camp Camp.
Red Vs. Blue, which stands as Rooster Teeth’s most iconic franchise, will tinker its format as it begins its 13th year on the Internet. The machinima comedy set in the Halo universe will eschew a season-long arc in favor of individual stories engineered by prominent content creators, such as Freddie Wong, Game Grumps, and science fiction author Ernest Cline. A trailer released on the official Red Vs. Blue channel provides a brief introduction for the upcoming episodes.

We’ve gone at length discussing the Nintendo World Championships on the NXpress podcast and needless to say, we weren’t very pleased with the outcome of the qualifying rounds (held in only eight cities). Considering how underwhelming that event was, we’re hoping for the best come this Sunday when the finals will be held in the Microsoft Theatre (formerly known as the Nokia Theatre). Today Nintendo has released more info for the event in a video posted on their Youtube channel. The second announced game for the championship is Splatoon, which according to the video is the first time the game has been played in a live tournament setting. In addition, Kevin Pereira, former Attack of the Show/Let’s Ask America host will be hosting the event. The names of the eight players invited were also announced which include Speedrunners Sinister1, Cosmo, Bananas, Trihex, Essentia, TheMexicanRunner, Smosh Games host Jovenshire,...
