People Helping the Birds
misterbradg25 June 2023
This is such an amazing series and how Christian has found people all across the United States, Puerto Rico and Hawaii to show how people are making a difference in the conservation and rehabilitation efforts for the declining bird populations across North America and the world. Such a wonderful show and up close of rare birds I hope I will get to see one day!!!

Thank you Christian Cooper for sharing your love of birds with us!!!

I hope there will be more episodes of the Extraordinary Birder. We have watched alll 6 episodes in less than a day.

If you are any kind of bird watcher you are going to love this show!!!

Extraordinary Birding!

As a lifelong birder, I was excited to see a Nat Geo Wild quality-level show with a great guide in Christian Cooper. As birders, we not only "birdwatch" but love to learn about the habitats, songs, calls, behaviors, and conservation status and practices of our stunning array of birds all over the world.

This series includes some surprising locations, making it even more interesting. Christian's knowledge and dedication shines through as he guides us to see and better understand our feathered friends. I only wish there were more than 6 episodes and hope the show returns for another season. How about northern Thailand for a location?

Opening our eyes to an earth worth saving

Warning: Spoilers
First of all - amazing visually and intellectually. I believe that the value of this series is far beyond the wonder that Christian Cooper experiences as a birder. It is the opportunity to step into the world of those who dedicate themselves to preservation, Rehabilitation and just caring for these species so critical to the ecosystem for all of us.

The series is not merely observational. It is one of the newer genre of animal programs that are experiential in terms of a 360 view of the lives of animals, and their carers previously often not readily accessible. And it enables us to enter into the cultural landscape that surrounds the birds, so we can understand why they each matter. We learn about the integral role that humans play in aspiring to keep our earth, in our region, frankly, healthy. And, it is hard to imagine not finding inspiration to become part of the solution with every episode.

Finally, I never tire of seeing these simple yet marvelous creatures released back into the wild, which Christian seems to highlight with each episode.

Beautiful outdoor scenes. Thank you NatGeo

When TV executives and bean-counters turn to a sea of UFO/ghost hunting/Big Foot sightings shows that floods today's TV, National Geographic stands to keep TV quality its tradition, and not stoop low with low-budget reality or talk shows.

Best part of Extraordinary Birder is that it takes viewers to places that are hard to get to, or not very well-known. Yes, we all know Yellow Stone or Grand Canyon are awesome, but how many people know about caves in Puerto Rico that are homes to beautiful birds and animals?

I am happy to have found this show, so that "Naked and Afraid" or ghost hunting or street racing garbage shows can RIP. Thank you very much.
