Scandal: White Hat's Back On
Scarecrow-881 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Here is a humdinger of an episode. Billy Chambers wants to align himself with Fitz's old adversary on the road to the White House: his opponent who wants to be Vice President! Chambers supposedly has an ally in David Rosen, but does David want revenge on Olivia or does he have a different, more valiant purpose with the Cytron card? How David gets the card is a doozy of terrific editing (the way the show puts together his actions while "under the care" of Olivia is terrific), while Cy has a heart attack, using whatever leverage available to him to separate Fitz and Olivia is on the agenda. Mellie is enduring heartache as her current (perhaps soon to be ex) husband contemplates divorce and marriage to Olivia. Then there's Rowan, head of B-613, and why he wants Liv to be separate from the PotUS….now *this* is a twist! So Jake saves Liv (supposedly) of a hitwoman's bullet, and he takes a trip into the *hole* for his trouble! Meanwhile, Liv learns of Fitz's murder of Verna while he learns of her sleeping with Jake. Yep, no matter how much these two want to be together, too many things keep them apart (a good soap opera doesn't allow this to ever truly happen). Quinn has been learning the ropes from Huck, but he is concerned she will turn out just like him and Charlie. When Huck cannot torture Chambers for the whereabouts of the Cytron card, Quinn is able to put a drill into his hip…and loves the thrill of it! Ultimately, Fitz has to return to Mellie for the good of her re-election campaign, and Liv has to decide on her team. But when media get leaked word that she slept with Fitz, Rowan steps in, but how he "relates" to her finally establishes his reasoning for "getting close to her". A whopper of a twist at the end closes the second season quite effectively.

Love story aside, last 5min knocked it off the park
subirsinha10 June 2023
I was irritated and confused by the unwanted love story of 2 leading characters. The web series initially promised so much. It was fast paced. Lots of surprises. But the love story brought the whole story to a screeching halt. And it's frustrating to see the indecisiveness of Olivia Pope. Where did the fixer Olivia Pope go? I don't need a confused lover.

SEASON2 was long and dragging most of the times. 22 episodes Seriously! I was about to give up on the web series. But to my utter surprise, the last 5min of this episode knocked it off the park. I just didn't see it coming.

I cant belive I am saying this. I will actually watch Season 3.
