Paris-based TeamTO – one of Europe’s leading kids’ entertainment companies – is investing in new IP projects to broaden its global reach, while pioneering green production techniques that have set the standard for the French animation sector.
The company, with a capacity of up to 700 staff, has developed a high-end production pipeline, primarily catering to kids animation series, such as the Emmy-nominated “Angelo Rules,” “Jade Armor” and “Behind the Beats,” as well as servicing third-party series, ranging from Hasbro’s “Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes” to Netflix hit “The Creature Cases,” recently nominated for an Annie award and a Kidscreen award.
In a fast-changing market, impacted by strikes, narrowing ad revenues and cut-backs at streamers and broadcasters, TeamTO’s strategy is based on investing in high-quality IP projects and pursuing strategies to build their international brand recognition.

With its list of new releases for July 2023, Disney+ is deciding to chill a bit. And honestly, in the surprisingly competitive summer entertainment landscape, that’s appreciated by your local entertainment writers.
The only two line items of note this month is the premiere of one show and the finale of another. The premiere is that of Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire on July 5. This animated sci-fi anthology features 10 short films from African creators. Per Disney+, Kizazi Moto draws “on uniquely African perspectives to imagine brave new worlds of advanced technology, aliens, spirits, and monsters. This is Africa as you’ve never seen it before.”
Later on in the month, July 26 sees the sixth and final episode of Marvel’s Secret Invasion. Hopefully this saga about a plotted Skrull takeover of earth has a satisfying conclusion because it won’t be until Loki season 2 on Oct. 6 that we get another Marvel Cinematic Universe offering.

French CGI studio TeamTO, one of the biggest animation studios in Europe, has initiated development on “Jade Armor” Season Two.
The move comes as TeamTO has produced on a service basis third party IPs ranging from “Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes” to Netflix hit “The Creature Cases.”
Progress on “Jade Armor” TeamTO is made in the wake of its moving last December into a brand new 2,700 square-meter studio facility in the Bastille district in Paris, as, in its busiest year ever, TeamTO is producing five third-party shows. Five more, all TeamTO original series, are airing around the globe.
Parallel to this, TeamTO is offering on open access its cutting-edge technologies and protocol which can significantly reduce energy consumption.
A martial arts action comedy, “Jade Armor’s” narrative premise is fantasy, turning on Lan Jun, an unlikely Chinese teen hero who inherits a magical suit of armor which allows her to protect her city Ban Tang,...

The animated anthology series "Star Wars: Visions," which debuted in 2021, may be the best way to explore the franchise's vast and complicated mythology, better even than legacy shows like "The Book of Boba Fett" and "Obi-Wan Kenobi." Every one of the "Star Wars" movies has featured a lot of background detail, often depicting space aliens of all walks of life casually going about their business, oblivious to the adventures that our heroes may be going through at any given moment. In presenting out-of-timeline animated shorts, "Visions" has the leeway to look into the cracks and explore what life is like in the "Star Wars" universe outside the tiresome saga of the Skywalkers. It has only been through expanded universe fiction, and shows like "Visions," that Starwoids have been able to see what non-soldiers are doing in wartime.
The first seasons of "Visions" featured shorts exclusively from Japanese animation studios, including...

When “Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes” first came across Debbie Allen’s desk for a potential partnership, both parties realized what a good fit they could be with their common interests.
The original action-adventure animated series follows Kiya, a seven-year-old African girl, whose passions in life are dancing and martial arts, which also become her superpowers. Set in the southern Africa-inspired Kimoja City, each 11-minute episode focuses on themes of community, empathy and unity and features African and Asian-lead characters.
When Allen isn’t working on “Grey’s Anatomy,” she’s leading her dance academy and middle school — both of which are based in Los Angeles. She offers a slew of programming aimed at educating kids (some of whom are as young as 3 years old) in academics and the arts. Her academy’s “Hot Chocolate Nutcracker” has become a popular holiday staple. Previously, Allen showcased the preparation process for the big...
