- A musical documentary following 12 Congolese musicians on their tour through Europe and Kinshasa with a show in which they created a symbiosis between baroque and African music.
- The film 'Final Blow' is a musical documentary woven around the successfully musical theatre play 'Coup Fatal', realized by Alain Platel (artistic direction), Fabrizio Cassol (musical direction) and Rodriguez Vangama (conductor). Together with the Congolese counter tenor Serge Kakudji and 12 Congolese actors/musicians they created a symbiosis between baroque and African music. This approach ensures a unique perspective on the challenges of merging African and European culture. During several years the film-directors followed Rodriguez Vangama and his supremely gifted Congolese actors/musicians during their tour in Europe and Kinshasa. On their travel through Europe they are confronted with the differences and challenges of European society. They embrace Europe, but miss Kinshasa. When the tour comes to an end, the musicians know they have to return home. Will they stay or will they return to Kinshasa? The film offers the viewer a profound reflection on the complex relationships between Congo / Africa and Belgium / Europe in today's modern world.—Peter Krüger
