The Flood has arrived!!
dalehayes-1392122 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Anyone who just watched the show and never played the games must have thought this was just humans vs the covenant aliens. They must have been absolutely shook by the flood 😂

If you think "the last of us" infected are scary zombies, you've seen nothing yet. Just Wait until they're fully infected & spreading around in a coordinated way like an ant hive mind.

There's a reason those ancient relics are just relics. Nothing survived the flood. Those ring weapons weren't to kill the flood, just it's food supply. All of Us. Wipe out one galaxy to save the rest of them.

Season 2 was definitely much better. Only wish it was longer. Let's hope season 3 isn't too long of a wait.

Stands in stark contrast to the dumpster fire of the prior episodes
jellymcalpha22 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Something big must have happened, right? Suddenly this got good after the trainwreck this show has been for the longest time.

This spoiler has spoilers for this episode and also contains potential spoilers for future episodes.

There's many flaws here, but they're overall minor and come from a biased viewpoint as a fan of the games.

Kwan Ha's plot armor never ceases to irritate, but at least they sort of introduce the concept of the Gravemind so that scene isn't entirely wasted. Although I feel it's too early for the Flood to have a Gravemind literally minutes or at most hours after the outbreak. They should just be swarming at random, not using actual tactics like acting like they're frozen just to lure people in.

The scene with MC vs the Arbiter was strikingly plastic-looking. The cutaways to Makee really made it stand out as the crisp live action stands in quite stark contrast to the fight scene taking place in the Blender render. At least the fight was well coreographed, and it's obvious there's talent in the animation department, but the whole scene just seems poorly textured and rendered with a low sample rate (did they run out of budget?)

I'm glad 343GS got a tease but what is up with the voice acting? Why does he just "speak" like normal? Why doesn't he have a modulation filter? And the way he talks doesn't fit the character at all. Why is he being incredulous and wary of Chief? He's supposed to be sort of a fun/simple character that is eager to help, so that you don't see his underlying motivation.

Anyway, let me say some positive things I was left with.

The action overall was excellent. Kai's decision to collide into the Assault Carrier was pretty awesome and a good way to introduce a "Not Quite Dead" trope. Did she die, or did she live? We'll have to keep watching to find out.

I'm so glad they decided to kill off most of the bad characters. Parangosky and Laera in particular were terrible and annoying (not hating on the actors who did a great job, the characters just don't have any reasonable motivations), so I'm glad they got the same terrible fate.

For those lamenting the Arbiter's death, keep in mind this Arbiter is not the same as in the games. Thel Vadam is the name of the Arbiter in the games and he only becomes the Arbiter after the Covenant loses the battle on Halo. This Arbiter is not the same character; remember Arbiter is just a rank. Thel Vadam is the fleet commander during the time this period and can still become the Arbiter in future seasons, the timeline is still on course for that to happen here.

Took a while, but it got there
markwha22 March 2024
So season 1 was a little rough around the edges and season 2 progressively improved to the point we're at now which is definitely at the height of the show. They finally did something somewhat useful with the universally despised new character Kwan Ha and tied in the rest of the new TV show changes and correlated them to the original story in a good enough way to give the show its own unique flavour while preserving the great taste of the source material. Despite taking a bit too long to get to this point, I'm glad it got there and I am anxiously waiting for season 3 unlike passively waiting for season 2 as most of us likely were.

Solid 9/10 for the episode, removing only one point for one drastic change from the video game story which I really didn't want to see and an 8/10 for the whole of season 2.

As a side note, I hate the new trend of shows only having 8 episodes to a season and a massive wait in between seasons combined with the weekly trickle, but that's more of a symptom than a problem with this show specifically.

Halo is finally here.
chiefspartanfan99721 March 2024
I was most worried about the final. But, to my great surprise, it is very eventful and does not seem like they are wasting time.

Excellent action scenes, watching what was happening on Onyx was sometimes even more interesting than what was happening in space.

There were some flaws and script oddities here and there, but the latter were a minimum. And this ending looks and feels stronger than the ending of the first season. But if after this the series is not renewed for a third season, then there would be damn little point in all of this.

Master Chief destroys! And it was cool. The only thing that infuriated me was Kwang Ha's plot armor. It was bad.

Guys, they did it.
kendalljohnson8922 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't think they could pull it off. But this is such a successful adaptation of the game. They changed quite a bit (which is to be expected) but boy did they put their own flavor on it in the best way. This episode is the perfect example of understanding the feeling behind the lore, expanding retelling. The way Kai ends up like Master Chief at the end of Halo 2??? Exquisite. I mean the moment the disembodied voice started speaking to Master Chief I screamed "343!"

Can't wait for season 3. Hopefully they continue this lovely run of episodes. The visual are FANTASTIC. The set design feels like the game.

Great TV.

Halo Combat Evolved
khovasapian21 March 2024
We are back and it's a stunner, big action sequences, plots finishing and new plots starting - this episode was what makes season finales special.

Seeing the Chief be the Chief doing Chief things is a spectacle to behold and the episode is gripping from start to finish.

The episode features a few quiet moments to move the story forward however the action is well paced and better than most episodes before it (Reach was great as well).

All this being said it would be great to see it come back for another Season 3 and see what adventures the Chief, Covenant and other factions move forward in the future.

Well done!

Only the real Halo fans can understand
adulbrich22 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Only if you've moved past the games and into the Halo lore/books will you be able to understand what the show is trying to do. It's certainly not the same timeline but they do a pretty OK job bringing things together in a different way. This episode feels like the writers did their homework (not only playing the video games but also looking at the whole lore) and put their spin on it. It introduces the concepts of Gravemind for the floods, some references to Forerunner's personality imprints, introduces monitors, and so on. It also winks at the games with memorable scenes from the Master Chief. Looking forward to seeing where this goes (I hope it will continue).

Now that's the way you end a season! Wow!
quofan21 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched this whole series and enjoyed it, and without trying to make comparisons of it to the video game. Sure, at times the series has dragged, but boy did this episode ramp it up a lot. Seeing the Master Chief do 'Master Chief' things is this one was a joy to behold. This is what we have been waiting for! So much action too. You want battle scenes? Ok, there was plenty of that. Then add the subplot about the spores and the danger they obviously present and you've got a very complicated and extremely dangerous situation developing. I just hope we see a season 3, because I want to know what is going to be done about those spores, and now that the Master Chief has gone through the Halo, I definitely want to see what's next.

Now this is the Halo that we knew and loved
marcus_maa21 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I hope they make a season 3 and they make it like the finale.

It was great seeing Master Chief becomes Master Chief again but it was a very slow ride throughout the second season.

I like the mystery about the Flood and the Mother I hope if they make another season we see more of the cosmic horror that is the Flood the deep lore of them.

Lets see what they are gonna do about it but I'm not very hopeful but it would be a shame if they make all of this buildup and get to the Halo and flood so they can just cancel it.

By the way I love to see more of the Monitor the voice was very good and the interaction between him and MC was great.

Good enough to keep me interested
paulroldan-6326822 March 2024
I wish I could say this show is flawless. I am a huge fan of the games and I could understand the challenges of adapting a game with very little story. It is mostly about shooting aliens. What annoyed me about the show is that it had the action and the look of a live action halo. It just could have used maybe one more episode to really flesh out the conflict and resolutions between character plot lines. It really glossed over some stuff in the end just to save it for season 3, and I hate that! It could really turn people off front the show entirely. Why is everything shot soo freaking dark omg.

There's nothing stranger than the fact that Halo's director knows exactly what we want to see.
xiao-7406721 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
But still manages to make most of the episodes look like chest thumpers. The Flood is comming the Halo is comming and the Arbiter dead?

The last episode had some great action scenes, the introduction of the Flood makes you really look forward to the next season, the shot of the Master Chief taking off his helmet is a perfect replica of the game poster, and I would have expected the Arbiter to survive to continue to tangle with the Master Chief, sadly he didn't make it.

To summarize as the title mentions, the director and writers of this series of episodes are actually fully capable of making episodes that will please both Halo gamers and non-gamers alike, but still chose to be mediocre in most of the episodes, and hopefully there will be more gaming elements in the next season.

First episode of the entire show to somewhat resemble Halo
tdsearles2521 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It took an entire season of nonsense to finally reach some small resemblance of what we know to be Halo. Its obvious they saved half the seasons budget for the final episode and a quarter of it on Master Chief vs Arbiter. But why did we have to kill him off? Lazy and disappointing, he was a great untapped character. After 7 episodes this season of nonsense we finally have Cortana and Chief reunited to take on the mysteries of Halo.

We finally have the first sighting of the Flood, seemingly close to how they should be. Although, how long it took the ship to recognize the parasite was ridiculous but made for good horror. Hilarious how the ship is completely taken over by the Flood but Keyes is still working in the lab. Watching Parangosky die was satisfying, as she was a pretty pathetic and unconvincing villain. But the Mother holding back the Flood for Kwan Ha was stupid...Kai's sacrifice was unnecessary.

It was a fun episode but messy and full of questionable choices. Thankfully we are finally at Halo and hopefully the writers can improve in season 3. IF not, it will likely be the final season.

How the most chimpanzee like writers imaginable wrote themselves into a corner.
ryesig22 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I really tried to be excited for this season based on the trailer and all the episodes up to 4. I gave this show so many chances, I looked past all the main complaints of season one cause to me it was just halo before the games. But these brain dead writers somehow wrote themselves into a corner 2 seasons in a row, and really, really need to be fired. Alot of this series felt so rushed that it doesn't make sense when they also added so much pointless stuff to it to compensate. I don't know how bad you have to do that in a show that literally already has a damn blueprint made for it that literally everyone loves.

For instance they killed mackee in season 1 which made all the sense cause she wasnt in any books or games. Well now shes back, no explanation for how ever given.

They faked Halsey's death in season 1 for like...no reason and no one seems even shocked how she keeps showing up all over the place in season 2 so no real point there ever given.

UNSC kidnap a kid that kwan abandoned to make spartan 2's when theyd already started making spartan 3's and that whole side arc was spent basically getting him back and all that ended up accomplishing was nothing but sorens wife dying.

Their most illogical monkey-like idea? They literally skimmed over the fall of reach! How!? How does any writer even think of something that stupid?

Reach is sacred and could have been the entire season and everyone would have loved it. But they did the equivalent of killing it off screen... one episode dedicated to the fall of reach and then they kill it of screen.

Also stupid but a less egregious degree, they seemed to have removed all covenant races for the galaxy except elites and jackals. Never saw any of the grunts, leaders, or brutes at all this season.

They released the flood in the stupidest of ways and did it way earlier for no reason. It was as terrifying as I was hoping it would be but so outside the scope of the games that it feels like theyre now just going to skip the entire events of the first game altogether which would be worse than what those idiot writers did to reach.

They spent way too much time in meaningless stuff in this season and still somehow made the stuff that was meaningful feel rushed. Wanna know how to not make episodes feel rushed? Write out the pointless stuff you added. How hard of a concept is that!

They had one space battle in a season involving the fall of reach, of course it didnt occur over reach and of course somehow made most of it off screen. I'm fairly certain the UNSC ships didnt even fire any shots which would be par for the course.

Ive never written a review before after a decade of using this site but this was a capital offense. Everything in this show started unraveling after that.

They can say its a silver timeline all they want but its a cop out. They just suck at writing and it sucks worse cause they had everything at their disposal, a literal blueprint to not screw this up and they somehow did. It's like they are actively trying to get this show cancelled and I cant figure out why but at this point paramount would be better off firing these chimps, hire actual human beings or even AI would be better and just retcon the entire second season.

Little to late but better than never
scarceak4721 March 2024
This is what we wanted, but unfortunately it came a little too late. The final episode of Halo was everything we wanted to see and experience when we talk about Halo. Seeing the Marines and the Spartans working together felt like the first Halo game. This episode made you think about the first Halo game in many ways, and I think fans will enjoy the final episode but also feel upset for it all to end and feeling left wanting more. Master Chief finally became the Master Chief we all know and love. You felt that his presence in every scene saved the day, reminding you of the hero he is. With a mixture of horror and action, this episode was great and unfortunately left with the feeling that you wish more episodes were like this one.

For Original Fans and New Fans - This Episode is for You
c_hand22 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was an excellent finale to a much-improved season. As an original fan, this episode made me feel like coming home and gave me the urge to go and play the games again.

The return of an ancient evil and its portrayal in live-action was fantastic. The theme of "broken soldiers" that the Spartans contend with all season with a variety of outcomes for each of them continues in this episode. Action sequences are fantastic - from ship combat, to space combat, to the grand finale of Chief vs Arbiter. They even managed to make Kwan Ha's storyline much more intriguing by the end as well.

What a ride. At this point, I've fully bought in. Can't wait for Season 3.

Almost perfect...
nemesispo23 March 2024
Ok, I don't undertstand people, the series is almost a perfect one, yes it is not as the game in many ways, but come one it is so damn good. The one thing that is awful is that we need to wait 2 years for another season, I pray that the next season is not going to take that long and we need more episodes. People should stop hating it so much because the series is too good, Pablo Schreiber is perfect for the master chief, some episodes are boring and it's especially annoying is that such a short season should have more action, I hope they fix that in the next season and remember that even if the series don't follow the game that much, but in some way it dose, it's a series to sit down and enjoy the action and visual effects and just let it gooo...

Brilliant!
Console_General22 March 2024
As a lifelong fan of the Halo franchise, I approached Episode 8 of the Halo 2 TV series adaptation with a mix of excitement and apprehension. Adapting a beloved video game into a television format is no small feat, but I'm thrilled to report that this latest installment not only captures the essence of the source material but also stands as a shining example of how to translate gaming excellence to the small screen.

From the moment the iconic Halo theme kicked in and the familiar sight of Master Chief graced my screen, I knew I was in for a treat. The production values of Halo 2 Episode 8 are nothing short of exceptional, with every frame exuding the same level of polish and attention to detail that fans have come to expect from the franchise. From the intricately designed Covenant architecture to the awe-inspiring vistas of distant alien worlds, the visual fidelity is simply stunning, immersing you in the rich tapestry of the Halo universe like never before.

But it's not just the visuals that impress in Halo 2 Episode 8; the storytelling is equally compelling. Building upon the narrative groundwork laid in previous episodes, this installment delves deeper into the complex web of alliances and betrayals that define the Halo mythos. As Master Chief and his allies race against time to thwart the Covenant's sinister plans, the stakes are higher than ever, with each twist and turn keeping me on the edge of my seat.

One of the standout aspects of the TV series adaptation is its character development. While Master Chief remains the stoic centerpiece of the story, Episode 8 shines a spotlight on the supporting cast, fleshing out their personalities and motivations in ways that were only hinted at in the games. Whether it's the enigmatic Arbiter grappling with his sense of honor and duty or the fiercely determined Cortana struggling with the limitations of her digital existence, each character feels like a fully realized individual with their own hopes, fears, and flaws.

Of course, no Halo experience would be complete without its signature action, and Episode 8 delivers in spades. The choreography of the battle sequences is nothing short of breathtaking, with every gunshot and explosion packed with visceral energy. Whether it's a pulse-pounding shootout in the streets of New Mombasa or a gravity-defying skirmish aboard a Covenant cruiser, the action is relentless and exhilarating, leaving me breathless and begging for more.

But perhaps what impressed me most about Halo 2 Episode 8 is its willingness to take risks and push the boundaries of the source material. While it remains faithful to the core themes and motifs of the games, the TV series adaptation isn't afraid to chart its own course, introducing new characters, plotlines, and twists that keep even the most seasoned Halo veterans guessing. This willingness to innovate and evolve is a refreshing change of pace in an era dominated by safe, by-the-numbers adaptations.

In conclusion, Halo 2 Episode 8 is a triumph on every level. With its stunning visuals, gripping storytelling, and pulse-pounding action, it stands as a shining example of how to adapt a beloved video game franchise for the small screen. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a newcomer to the series, this is television gaming at its finest. So grab your controller, buckle up, and prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey through the Halo universe. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Hear me out...
MF_Bloosh21 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Listen, we all felt some sort of way about the first season, especially if you have been a fan of the games since Halo: Combat Evolved first came out. I enjoyed the first season more than most, but it still felt like it was missing something. Season 2 completely laid to rest any concerns I still had about this show. This finale is what I expect from a Halo TV show. They're finally giving us things that are familiar. Covenant fleets, huge firefights on Covenant cruisers, the Flood, 343 Guilty Spark, Cortana and Chief finally working together, and the actual Halo itself which looks exactly how it should look. I really hope they renew this show for season 3, seeing as no decision has been made yet. It would be a shame for it to be binned right when it's at it's best.

This is the perfect Halo live action
info-617521 March 2024
This couldn't have ended better and the amount of work that went into this episode is astonishing, the acting, the CGI, the choreography, the views and the planning required to pull it all off is absolutely astonishing.

If this doesn't get another season, I'm going to be very sad. I really have to know what's going to be the continuation of this, well, I could play the games - but I want to experience the world in live-action like this first.

And that comes from a gamer, that's been playing games and know the value and immersion of games. Still, this delivers such a believable world that it beats even that.

1 extra star because some bits of Halo are actually there
jas9722 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Had some good moments but wen't the wrong way completely... or, in other words, some shows have filler episodes, this was an entire season of filler content made from bits of Halo universe, but at the same time doesn't follow any rules set by said world that the whole fanbase is used to.

Just like with all the other recent "adaptations", this took character names but didn't take the actual characters from the established lore and created some sort of nonsensical abomination, which resembles a lot AI generated pictures - the basic building blocks are there, but often misplaced and attention is being drawn to the wrong aspects of the picture.

The show made John-117 into some sort of immortal magician, and they don't realize that it creates a huge problem - he cannot be killed, so ALL the drama from his combat scenes is immediately taken away - because we know he doesn't die, but not because of augments and skills gained, that came at the cost of losing his humanity, but because he is "special" and controls his fate. So essentially nothing that Halsey did mattered, the female SpartanII in the ship fight did not do anything worth mentioning and just provided moral support for SpartanIIIs, MC comes in and wipes the floor... good job destroying the lore they built during Season 1... because all we learn is that hard work and sacrifice means nothing, being born special > everything, which is NOT what you want to tell kids, you want to tell them the story that is exact opposite of this.

This brings to Halsey, what did she do in S2? Where was her genius? Because she did bugger all, survived something on Reach, went to "origin cave" just to find her daughter tell her that she's stupid, and solution was so simple, and then some other magical girl solves a puzzle that genius scientist missed completely - this is carbon copy of Disney's - lets turn Luke into demented old hermit to erase everything he did before and put some new, diverse characters in their place sort of thing, and to top it off - get her infected and put on ice, so the new diverse characters can save her... (slow clap)... couldn't make Halsey show some humanity and save one of the diverse new characters by sacrificing her somehow and getting hit by the flood to let the new diverse character escape? No, can't have that, instead lets continue destroying her character and talk only about how ruthless and single minded she is that she kidnapped children for a program that didn't even matter at the end, because magical, helm-less master chief is unkillable superhuman that can bang on a console and escape a spaceship crashlanding just because he wished it - can't wait to watch S3 where magical, helm-less master chief wishes Flood into non-existence, because he simply needs to wish harder, maybe together with the nonsensical blond arbiter chick, who we don't know what she is capable of because she just said so...

It would be great to see Kwans vision to turn out to actually be Gravemind playing tricks with pawns to show how really capable, cunning and dangerous it can be when it manipulates semi-main characters in undermining Chiefs work without them actually realizing that they are being manipulated, but lets face it - the talent to flesh out a plot like this for S3 just isn't here, and, considering modern politics, using the "diverse" characters in such a way is just plain unacceptable to the powers directing content creation there.

I'm totally amazed by lack of talent and direction in the writing room of this show, what a way kill off a guaranteed cash cow and flush down the drain another established franchise...

Mixed bag that is often lacking but improving
jaggill_viper21 March 2024
There are some good elements here. Sometimes you really have to adjust your expectations and too often your standards to actually enjoy it. This episode, like the last one, offers a vast improvement compared to the rest of this extremely disappointing season. There is more focus on the Covenant and the intergalactic war which is finally taking a more prominent and visual role. The showrunners seem to have even found enough pennies to afford the CGI for some proper ships, battle scenes and to show more of the actual scale of this epic war against an alien race.

The improvements don't stop there. There is also less melodrama and the dialogue has improved with its new found focus on what matters. The actors are better except for the ones that seem out of place and annoying to watch. You know which ones. The show has finally started focusing more on what is actually important to the plot of Halo instead of using the plot as a backdrop or a means to carry out a boring emotional drama as before. These areas have improved and should be praised; however, there are still areas where this show is at the very least still lacking.

The camera work still needs improvement to adequately capture scenes and the quick motion during fight scenes. There is less disrespect of the Masterchief and focus on his grinding internal mental struggles that have previously made him look so weak and ineffective. Now he is confronted with choices in battle and faces dilemmas about his path forward. This is a welcome change but it is still hard to forget the character assassination that they performed on him and all of the Spartans already. At least he wears his armor and helmet for some of this episode. I can't believe how I even need to praise this.

They also introduce a critical part of the Halo series. Its introduction is a mixed bag at best. It's interesting how they show elements of it but there are so many logical errors leading up to and during its introduction and the strange behavior on the part of certain characters that it takes away from significance of it. Parts of these scenes are very haphazardly done and frankly it would be a bigger problem for me if not for the greater disasters this series has already suffered. But for the "silver timeline" it's good enough I guess. It has good moments but other times it leaves you shaking your head in disbelief at some of the choices.

They are not doing the source material any justice and have perverted the themes and concepts that make Halo so appealing as a sci-fi saga. They really need to trim some of the most offending elements. I hate Kwan with a passion and hope for her to meet her final end every time she appears on screen. Her plot armor is just too thick. Soren sounds constipated all the time and I don't care for him or his family. The Spartan 3's are unlikeable, unbelievable and frankly annoying. These are easy characters to kill off and yet what do the showrunners do? Instead, they kill off characters that are somewhat appealing and likeable.

Most of the episodes this season have been small minded, trope filled, canon disrespecting and plainly boring episodes that are more focused on personal melodramas. This episode improves on a lot of these past mistakes but for many viewers this will be too little and too late. The show is lacking still. No Keyes, no pillar of autumn, no grand reveal of the ring, no amazing scenes to show MC racing the Covenant and reaching the Halo. This whole Halo but not Halo routine has some good moments but it is hard to stomach at times. Too often it disrespects Halo canon and what it and its characters stand for. But it is becoming more watchable and still has room for improvement.

Halo
mhmdkarwnd21 March 2024
In terms of a fictional series, it worked very well and this series is wonderful and I am impatiently waiting for its third, fourth and fifth season. But the story is still half-finished and I don't think that two seasons can be considered as one season. This series is really great, only the changes that have been made in the main story and the narrative that I witnessed in the game are annoying. I wish they were faithful to the original story and followed the scenes and the main story line.

The time of the episodes should be increased and the episodes should be more, not that they put, for example, 8 episodes in one season and the story that reaches its peak, leave the work halfway where the audience is thirsty for the movie and is waiting for the answers to their questions (I hope There should not be much interruption in the production of the third season.

If the series is not renewed, I think it is really a mistake, they should portray the story until the end and I am impatiently and eagerly waiting for the new season. Thank you to all the actors of the halo series.

For Normies Eyes Only
sasha-4490921 March 2024
The original Xbox game, Halo: Combat Evolved, was released on Thursday 15th November 2001.

It became a best seller, and sold a heck of a lot of Xboxes! I had been a Playstation gamer but bought an Xbox just to play Halo.

It's unique game mechanics of the rechargeable health and shield, forced players to switch from all out assault (when their health and shields were full) to stealth (waiting for their health and shields to regenerate).

But it was the world of Halo that kept gamers coming back for more. And why it's sequels where also best sellers under Bungie. The UNSC (through The Master Chief) vs the Covenant, then the UNSC fighting alongside one faction of the Covenant against another faction. And lurking in the background another antagonist that could wipe everyone out!

The reveal of this third antagonist in Combat Evolved was a fundamental step change. You thought you knew what the Combat Evolved story-line was: UNSC vs Covenant; good vs evil. Then something happened, and the complexion of the game changed. It turned from space combat to survival-horror. I still remember that scene and how I felt to this day.

And how did Halo the TV series treat this reveal in the season finale? In a completely different way with no build up. It just happened, through a series of blunders and neglect for basic safety protocols that had me rolling my eyes at the ineptitude of the characters I was watching, even the accompanying musical score as this section of the story unfolded, seemed a strange choice to me.

It does however crystalise what is wrong with the TV show. The story is just too generic - there is no imagination on show here.

If you have never played Halo: Combat Evolved, you may find this TV show interesting, and forgiving of the poor writing and how some of the character arcs are dispatched with in this episode.

But knowing how grander, space operatic, and grounded in realism (you know why characters know what they know) the games are, the TV show's plot is lazily moved forward with a character providing a supernatural "insight" into a situation that they really should not be in a position to know about (I'm looking at you Kwan Ha!); this show is a difficult watch. A series of missed opportunities.

I've given this episode 1 star for the FX, they are way better than season 1. And nothing for the character development or the world of Halo that the showrunners have reimagined.

It's just one generic sci-fi thing after another... A cherished IP burned to the ground by a writing room that has no appreciation or respect for the source-material. It's a product to be consumed, nothing more.

Not the ending this series deserves!

I was hoping for a better ending. I guess there not going to be a season 3 and that we're just have to guess what the end would have been.

I really like this season but the last episode felt like a mess when it's suppose to be the end fight but no.

I guess they could have waited with the virus to the next season if they get one more. It was a bit much.

Otherwise this is one of my favorites series right now and if it gets another season then I might forgive them for messing up the end 😂

Cgi is fantastic and the characters is growing to something great. I like the story in this series and the game. But I guess Paramount as a platform won't survive for 2 more years.

An excellent season finale

Warning: Spoilers
I have been watching this show from the beginning, and sincerely, despite his ups and downs, it seems to me like a good adaptation, although there are still things to improve.

At least this season, they already have a path to follow; if that is how I think, it will follow the path of the video games but adapt to the original time line of the series.

The episode 2x8 was an excellent season finale to me, giving us the expected spacial battle Human-Covenant and the arrival of the Master Chief to Halo. As was expected since the 2x1 episode in this season, they introduced us to the flood, and I must say they represented his terrorific thread in the best way. I felt the same fear and anxiety when I was playing "The Library."

I can't avoid mentioning the bad way they introduced the covenant units in the majority of the combat scenes, because always it was about closed outlets. I understand it's for saving budget, but it can be done better.

We can only wait until 2026 for a third season if the series is renewed.
