Ill start by saying Dylan raines acting was the best of this movie. She really did give it her best and I thought she was belieable. She plays anna. A lady that works for a newspaper firm that uncovers the lives of celebrities. One day juliet a influencer is stalked and ultimatly murdered people blame anna for her death, so she sets out to get to the bottom of it. The people she work with, juliets boyfriend along with with someone else were pretty terrible. I think the problem is always the script that ruins the films because a lot of these have pretty good storys. Overall dying for fame was a predictable film but dylan certainly made it shine.

Artie's Glasses ...
Fairly good movie, although the acting was a little dry, but overall ... ok. Main character needed to not be so monotone. The part that bugged me the most, was Artie's glasses not having lenses in them. That was so distracting for me. I couldn't even focus on his conversation, for trying to figure out why the director didn't figure out a way to leave the lenses in and not have them reflect, or just not use them at all. It's little things like that, which can cause distractions, resulting in an annoyance in the movie. I liked the ending, and the movie was decent. Some minor fixes could have made it so much better.

the acting...sheeeesh

Listen, I know what I'm getting when watching a Lifetime movie. I watch it for it's cheesiness but even Lifetime movies have some type of value. I mean, it's not Tubi. But this movie? What happened in the casting for the main actress? She's lackluster at best...Dead in the eyes...Has absolutely no emotion for a movie where she's concerned about finding the truth. She couldn't carry this storyline. I usually like cheesy movies, but the acting in this one was hard to watch. Two exceptions I'll make were the women who played Juliet and Meg. They were good and unfortunately had the least screen time.

HOW NOT TO ACT
fpswrite6 January 2024
I assume the director can't direct a feature movie as the actors can not act period!

Seriously, how does this movie get made...what a waist of time and space on the internet. Best review it could get is, that the whole event was a learning experience, but disgusting if they got paid for it.

All of the cast would make for nice photos though someday. They all act like the script was for someone else, or if it had been written, produced, and directed by different people they would not look like they feel...that they are not killing it. (They probable at different times to one another thought they were doing ok.) In summing up they are all lovely people. I just wanted to critic one of these type of "movies"?

:-) Love!

Dying for Fame

Follows Anna, a career-driven internet tabloid reporter as she discovers that many of influencer Juliet's fans aren't real. Juliet then offers Anna another story about a stalker who has been harassing her for months. Instead of helping, Anna ultimately decides to proceed with the fake fans story. When Juliet is found dead, though, Anna feels guilty for not listening and helping her. Desperate to right her wrongs and uncover the killer, Anna takes matters into her own hands.

Yes Dylan Raine -who plays Anna - looks like she's reading from a cue card, but she's quite cute and charming enough to carry the film. Her dialogues can be stilted, but the plot grabbed me and its mystery was good, and I didn't the killer to be who it was. I enjoy these Hallmark/Lifetime mysteries, so I would like it, unless it's the pits, but this isn't.

This Film is Trending Now!!!

Warning: Spoilers
J. K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, is a billionaire and formerly acclaimed writer. She found her reputation in tatters when she "liked" a message on the internet. The film "Dying for Fame" offers perspectives on the insidious forces currently at work on social media.

Juliet Jay is a self-styled princess "influencer" on social media. Buoyed by the support of her efficient and ambitious sister Meg, the dynamic Juliet has become an icon on the internet. But she is exposed by the savvy tabloid reporter Anna Faulkner, who learned that many of Juliet's earlier admirers were nothing more than bots.

The film was instructive in watching the development of Ms. Faulkner, who goes from being a sleazy reporter to a journalist of integrity after the tragic death of young Juliet. The cast worked effectively in developing a small number of well-developed characters.

The film conveyed the degree to which much of the internet is consumed by shallow, mindless, and time-wasting drivel. It also demonstrated the degree to which good journalism is fast becoming a relic of the past.

Dylan Raine was terrific in the role of the reporter. Everyone is looking forward to seeing Dylan in more Lifetime films. She is definitely "trending now"!
