- Beginning of the journey in Glasgow: Jérôme meet Coinneach Maclean : in the 17th century Glasgow was an important port for the trade of tobacco, sugar and cotton with America, later Glasgow became an industrial town (steel, shipyards, fabrics).From 1960 Glasgow has to find a new way: Coinneach and Jérôme go to the National Piping Center where they meet Finley Macdonald; they speak about the bagpipe in the modern music (jazz, rock and roll) and Finley plays bagpipe.Then they go to a pub created in an abandoned church: David MacLennan shows a great room used for concerts, weddings and baptisms.Jérôme goes later to kilt shop (Heritage of Scotland!, the saleswoman Kasey Hanson shows him the tartans and the clans (she wears the tartan of the Gordon clan) and Jérôme buys a kilt.Then he travels to Rothiemurchus Center in the National Park of Cairngorm (about 300.000 tourists each year) : Alf McGregor receives him and they begin the tour ; forests, moorlands, Highling cows ,a canoe trip in the lake and a picnic.Then Jérôme is in Aviemore: he meets Pal Blount of the Association "Strathpey Steam Railway",, an association of 80 volunteers who have restored steam locomotive and who are giving a new life to the railway line Glasgow (1983-1965): Jérôme and Paul enjoys this travel by train.Next stop: Saint Andrews : The Castle Course where Mick Woodcock receives Jérôme : they go to the old golf store "Tom Morris": a convention of 1552 allows the people of Saint Andrews to play golf.Then they go to the training rooms where Patrick Walker is analyzing the swing of Jérôme and Mick and Jérôme enjoy playing golf.Then Jérôme travels to North Berwick: at the SeaBird Center he meets Maggie Sheddan and they look through digital cameras the life of the sea birds on Bass Rock:and they take a boat to see the Bass Rock Island and its sea birds.Finally Jérôme arrives at Edingurgh where he meets Tom Watton who invites him to the Beltrane Fire Festival (celebration of the end of the winter): they see how the participants are making their makeup: Jérôme climbs the hill, he meets English young people who are coming to Edinburgh because it's the more important Pagan ceremony of the United Kingdom: then the drummers begins to play, the Queen of May appears and and there are everywhere torches and lights. Besides we see zooms about the band " Bags of Rock". about the musical life of Glasgow, about the tweed weaving in Islay. about Lady Cawdor and her castle in the Highlands, about the island of Skye (John Muir foundation), about the crofts (small farms) , about the hiking, the freedom of roam and the harvesting of wild plants (wild garlic, algae), about the Strathspey, place of the whisky distilleries and the choice of a good whisky, about the Highland Games (caber toss, bagpipe bands, Scottish dances) and about the renewal of the Gaelic language (Gaelic school).—zutterjp48
