After separating from her husband Pete, Emma Walters heads for a holiday in Cyprus, there she makes a play for handsome hotelier Niko, and the pair hit it off, unfortunately he isn't all he makes out.
Not the first time that Sally Lindsay has played a scam victim in a Channel Five drama, this follows Cold Call from a few years back.
I can see that it has been absolutely slated by the critics, but I quite enjoyed this first episode, it works because it's a realistic storyline, and there's something so incredibly likeable about Sally Lindsay.
You would have to question Emma's sense and reason, why on Earth would someone be so naive? I suppose it happens. I'm sure everyone was screaming at the screen, shouting 'don't be so stupid!!!'
Who doesn't love the idea of a holiday romance, but I doubt many actually turn out like Shirley Valentine, every time I visit the dentist's, and pick up a woman's magazine, there's always a story about a woman being scammed by a drop dead gorgeous man abroad.
Some gorgeous location work, and it is so nice to see the sun.
7/10.
