Shot in Austin, "Texersize" is a routine workout video cassette spotlighting the trim and attractive singer Irlene Mandrell leading a mixed group of six models in rather strenuous exercises.
Tape is not very different from earlier celebrity-led items on the market, for example the Jayne Kennedy "Love Your Body", opus. Country twang to the music track and hoedown moves in the dance steps offer the key distinction. Seemingly videotaped in near-real time, the exercisers work up a sweat in a nonstop, half-hour workout. Besides the fetching Mandrell sister, voyeurs are treated to a well-chosen, top-heavy model in the group.
Smooth camerawork provides some relief from monotony, but lack of costume changes or exteriors (only a wraparound intro posing Mandrel outdoors leaves the studio) leads to a claustrophobic, minimalist mood.
