You saw it too?

No pun intended - you'll understand once you've watched this short movie. A short that mixes a lot of things you may like about Korean movies in general. Now I am not a big fan of the romantic shows they have ... but that just boils down to me not having watched (m)any of them. I just do not have the time to do that too.

Our main character is a big fan of them of course. So it comes to no surprise that she watches one of them - there may be a surprise waiting for her though .. you have to watch to find out. Though maybe that is not the best advise I can give .. just kidding. Especially if you watch it alone as someone has told me .. it is fun watching this with a crowd too ... at a Festival preferably! Really well done and played ... the last twist will ... get you!

An Exquisite Miniature

I saw this as part of Ethereal Film Fest 2023, where it stood out as a near-perfect contribution. Six flawless minutes of Fabergé egg filmmaking. There were shades of When a Stranger Calls in the claustrophobic setting, and a tip of the hat to Scream in the acknowledgement of tropes and traditions, but the story stands on its own feet, independent of any other work.

The cast list is minimal - A Girl, An Actor, An Actress (no spoilers; the cast list comes before reviews on the IMDb page) - but the sense of menace is palpable and the acting is of an outstanding quality. We are drawn in effectively, made a part of the story. A true classic.
