Pete Davidson is walking away from his semi-autobiographical comedy series, “Bupkis.”
The Peacock show, which debuted in May 2023, was slated to go into production this summer for a second season. Davidson issued a press statement formally pulling the plug on the series entirely.
“I’ve always seen ‘Bupkis’ as a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family,” Davidson said. “After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media I wanted a chance to tell my story my way. Of all the work I’ve ever done, ‘Bupkis’ is by far what I’m most proud of.”
He continued, “I am so grateful to Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television, and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny, and heartfelt. I do also feel that this part of my life is finished. I...

Open social media on any given Thursday night as of late, and you’ve probably seen a message that reads something like “If you’re not watching #TheTraitors wtf are you actually doing.”
The Peacock series, which premiered in January and airs every Thursday night, has become an addictive guilty pleasure, earning the number one spot among unscripted streaming series and turning out endlessly quotable one-liners and internet memes on a weekly basis.
The global franchise originated with the Dutch show De Verraders in 2021. A year later, The Traitors was adapted for a U.

"Raging Bull" knocked audiences flat on their backs when it premiered over four decades ago. The boxing biography, which is still considered among director Martin Scorsese's best films, unfolds as a rags-to-riches-to-rags story about a brutal middleweight fighter whose personal life never quite matches up to his success in the ring. Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Cathy Moriarty headlined the film's wildly talented ensemble, while late "Cheers" star Tommy Como played a local mobster and actress Theresa Saldana, who passed away in 2016, played protagonist Jake's second wife Lenora.
While time has taken some of these talented actors away from us, and the real Jake Lamotta died in 2017, each member of the "Raging Bull" core trio is still acting today. To present a "where are they now" about an actor as famous and prolific as De Niro would be silly, but if you're looking for another great De Niro...

The Traitors is making the jump from word-of-mouth hit to quantified success.
The Peacock unscripted series is set to make its first appearance on Nielsen’s streaming charts for the week of Jan. 15-21. The show had about 384 million minutes of viewing for that week, which encompasses the first four episodes of season two (three debuted on Jan. 12 and the fourth on Jan. 18) as well as any viewing for the first season, as Nielsen counts all episodes of a series in its streaming totals.
Peacock says season two of The Traitors had the biggest debut for any original reality series on the streamer, growing by 75 percent over its first season. The show will be the first unscripted offering from the NBCUniversal platform to hit the Nielsen rankings (complete charts for Jan. 15-21 will be available in mid-February). An Exorcist sequel being poorly received isn’t anything new. Aside from the original film and The Exorcist III, these are not very popular films, with Exorcist II: The Heretic often coming up as one of the worst sequels ever made. (You can see our ranking of the Exorcist movies Here.) So the fact that the newly released The Exorcist: Believer (our review can be read at This Link) isn’t going over well with critics or the general audience isn’t much of a surprise. It is, however, a disappointment for Universal Pictures, since they and the Peacock streaming service forked over an amount somewhere in the range of $400 million to acquire the rights to distribute a new trilogy of Exorcist sequels from Blumhouse Productions and director David Gordon Green, a team the studio and streamer had just worked with on a trilogy of Halloween sequels. According to The Hollywood Reporter,...

Peacock has reversed course and canceled the second season of its Pitch Perfect TV spinoff Bumper in Berlin, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The renewal was first announced back in January, after the show’s first six-episode season debuted on Nov. 23, 2022. At the time of the renewal, NBCU said Bumper in Berlin was the streamer’s top comedy series to date, but has not released any viewing data.
The cancellation comes amid Hollywood’s dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and marks yet another series, alongside the canceled second seasons of Prime Video’s The Peripheral and A League of Their Own, to have the plug pulled during the work stoppage. At the time, A League of Their Own co-creator and star Abbi Jacobson criticized Prime Video’s decision, writing that “to blame this cancellation on the strike is bullshit and cowardly.”

Hong Chau will be looking to round off a pretty good year by snagging her first-ever Emmy nomination. This would come after she claimed her first Oscar bid, which came in Best Supporting Actress for “The Whale.” That was for her moving performance opposite Brendan Fraser in Darren Aronofsky‘s film. But, now, on the TV side of things, she will be competing for Best Comedy Guest Actress for Rian Johnson‘s “Poker Face.”
The Peacock episodic murder-mystery show follows Natasha Lyonne as Charlie, a young woman who goes on the run from a casino following a suspicious death. This post contains spoilers for the finale of "Mrs. Davis."
"Mrs. Davis" is, far and away, the most difficult show to describe on TV right now. In the simplest of terms, it's about a nun and a rodeo cowboy on the hunt for the Holy Grail, which they plan to use to shut down a nearly omnipotent algorithm called Mrs. Davis. In more complex terms, it involves a stage magician who may or may not have dissolved himself in acid, a diner cook who is actually Jesus Christ incarnate, and, in the finale, a roller coaster designed to kill algorithm users who trade some of their lifespans for a virtual reward called "wings."
The Peacock series is funny and strange, and with "The Leftovers" creator Damon Lindelof and "The Big Bang Theory" writer Tara Hernandez at the helm, it also has a lot on its mind. If one character brings...

Just when it seems like scripted media keeps telling the same stories, along comes a show like Mrs. Davis, where a nun and a cowboy embark on a quest to find the Holy Grail. The Peacock original series comes from creators Tara Hernandez and genre-bending sci-fi writer Damon Lindelof. The series star, Betty Gilpin, would find doing press for the show a challenge when having to speak about it as doing so would either have to sound incredibly vague or have major spoilers. “It’s almost impossible!” Gilpin declares.

Peacock’s upcoming true-crime docuseries on the infamous Menendez brothers includes a shocking allegation from a former Menudo boy band member against Jose Menendez, the father of the two boys convicted of murdering their parents.
The Menendez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed trailer, unveiled Tuesday, features Roy Rosselló claiming he was sexually assaulted as a teenager by Jose Menendez.
“It’s time for the world to know the truth,” Rosselló says in the trailer.
He adds of the elder Menendez, “I know what he did to me in his house.”
Their Menendez brothers’ trial became a national sensation as Americans closely followed the case and the brothers testified that the murders were mitigated by a lifetime of sexual abuse by their father. After a mistrial and deadlocked jury, the brothers were later retried and convicted in 1996 of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without parole.

After making more than $1.4 billion at the box office, producer Will Packer has gotten into the streaming game with “Praise This.”
The Peacock original marks Packer’s first time producing a movie that wasn’t destined for cinemas. While the new distribution plan might seem like a reaction to the hit or miss theatrical business — or the kind of pivot that would happen after a box office bomb, which Packer has yet to suffer, by the way — that’s not what’s behind the change in strategy.
“Malleable” is a word Packer has found himself using quite often in reference to the current state of moviemaking.

No bullshit here: Poker Face is returning for a second season.
The Peacock series created by Rian Johnson and starring Natasha Lyonne has been renewed at the streamer. The renewal comes as the first season of the T-Street and MRC Television series is rolling out, heading toward its March 9 finale. A season two premiere date has yet to be announced.
